Are Japanese The Most Civilized And Organized People In The World?

10

Japan has the lowest crime rate in the world and Japan’s large cities such as Tokyo and Yokohama are some of the cleanest cities in the world.
Japanese people do not use cellphones on the train or bus because it may distract other passengers. (It’s probably the only country in the world!)
Do you think the Japanese are the most organized and civilized ones in the world?
If you do, what made them such organized and civilized people?

yes it’s probably true….because we were brought up as we have to always think other people before ourselves and we value harmony. we are very hard working nation. we don’t really like laziness and irresiponsible….That’s why Japanese people are quite responsible about what we say and decide. transportation system are amazing….train come on time without fail.
everything are pretty much organised…

Don’t know if they are the “most” however going there has shown a culture that has police without firearms and elite technology. Japan also has a culture of common sense and seems nor to be guided by falsifications and misguidings of religiously controlled contries.
I do admit the killing of dolphins and whales is disturbing.

I’m afraid you’re very much misinformed.
Are Japanese the most civilized and organized people in the world?
A. No. No more than most other civilisations.
Japan has the lowest crime rate in the world
A. not the lowest, just a lot lower than most urbanised countries.
Japan’s large cities such as Tokyo and Yokohama are some of the cleanest cities in the world.
A. Tokyo and Yokohama are some of the cleanest cities in the world for one reason only, namely the teams of civilians who are paid to go around cleaning up other people’s garbage! You might find it hard to believe, but littering and spitting are commonplace here, as well as drunken vomiting and the occasional bit of vandalism. These teams of underrated people clean it all up – usually even the odd bit of dog mess. They’re the unsung heroes and heroines who give Japanese cities a good name they don’t deserve. The bulk of the Japanese population can’t learn that chucking something on the floor makes a mess because they’ve got someone picking things up after them.
Japanese people do not use cellphones on the train or bus because it may distract other passengers. (It’s probably the only country in the world!)
A. You’re joking right? Some Japanese people are so unbelievably pig ignorant that you get young able-bodied people sitting in the priority seats, where you’re not supposed to have your cell phone even switched on in case someone has a pacemaker, and they sit there texting all the damn time. Most or all young people on trains and buses text on their phones constantly. They rarely speak however, which perhaps makes them more polite than most other nationalities. There’s a rule that on trains a cellphone must be in manner mode, silent in other words. I frequently hear phones ringing though. A quick mutter follows, then the conversation ends. It’s better than the loudmouthed yapping you get in other countries of course, but you must remember that a large number of people always break rules.
Do you think the Japanese are the most organized and civilized ones in the world?
A. No. But I don’t suggest for one second that they’re any worse than anyone else. It’s a bad idea to put a whole nationality on a pedestal, even worse than just putting one false idol there. How many feet of clay can you take?
Additional details, no, in general they’re no better or worse than anyone else. They’re human beings. Some evil, some saintly, most somewhere in between the two.
Incidentally, police here do have guns although they rarely use them. (2 recent incidents are one cop shooting a dog that was attacking someone, and, according to some reports, a different cop trying to shoot a crow and hitting a 17 year old girl in her house by accident.)
Surely you can only have a truly organised and civilised nation if all the civilians obey every rule like sheep, never complain, and don’t ask for more than they have already. Once one of those rules is broken chaos ensues and you end up with the usual mayhem we call modern society.

urrrr! it far from truth in any mean!
murder by family member is consider a crime? if so it is multiple case in every single week here.
a lot of house whole murder by family member.
just today a mother try to kill 16 days old baby.
we can hear about this every day.
cleane, yeah that is one think i think it good here.
they don’t have to enforce idiot law like in Singapore but still tokyo look a lot cleaner than Singapore base on its population size. you right on this one.
except late friday night, when you can find vomit almost everywhere in town!
no use of cellphone on train because it may distract other passengers?
ha! that funny! noway.
they text and text, many young people talk and talk lough.
distraction? what about very lough music from mp3 player?
try taking a train to tokyo on mon-fri morning!
people on trains that hours are awful. very awful behavior.
if that doesn’t distract you enough then try Friday night walking in or out any station in a big city. you will see a lot of drunken old men and women and a lot of vomit. vomit everywhere in front of station, inside station, on the train platform, inside the trains. if you still think that it is not a distraction, try run fast and step on it!
most organized one in the world?
ha! see real japanese house especially kitchen in real life?
that is the most unorganized place in the world.
most japanese i know, have no idea how to effectively organize thinks.
and the most civilized nation on earth using research and science to serve their commercial whaling?
you kidding me right?
come to japan and live for a year, you will see how … you questions are!

Agreed with the american dumb cowboys comment.
People lionize japanese society, and while it has many good aspects, i think it has obvious, and large, deficiencies. Their preoccupation with politeness inhibits their own people’s well being, substantial issues in its own citizens can go without helpful action due to not being able to speak out about them (eating disorders, mental health, LGBT, drug addiction, etc.). The idea of having to fit in, or otherwise be alienated( i am not talking about foreigners) is cruel. I think a society that operates like this is savage in some respects.
I usually decry complaints about foreigners feeling as if they were treated poorly in japan, but the fact of the matter is that a lot of foreigners do indeed feel that way. Nothing positive can be said about a society that is able to cause so many people to feel unwelcomed in their country. That lack of worldliness is primitive. Japanese tend to know next to nothing about any other county in the world, this ignorance is ridiculous. Someone recently posted an anecdote on a different question stating a japanese asked them what color blood they have. Obviously, the japanese that asked that was an airhead, but i am not surprised one bit. This actually is the case in every east asian country i have been in, except south korea (well, at least it is a little less ignorant over there).
Other issues regarding non-japanese residents about being unable to find apartments at reasonable prices, koreans having to hide their identity, etc. are also silly. I think a more civilized, meaning having ‘advanced’ society, would be to address problems, go to measures to resist constructions of harmful taboos that detriment the population’s well-being (i.e. not feeling comfortable to seek treatment for a sensitive issue), institute fairness practices.
Japanese tend to work until 8, 9, or 10pm. I am not sure what their children do if the mother also works. They really do not need to, i do not agree with their work practices. I found them lazy at work (much to my surprise!, but not without substantial and much evidence of this), and that is entirely why they stay so long (this is a judgement based on conversations with japanese, foreigners, and my experience working with an engineering research group in japan for 3 months, if you have no experience in this regard it would be silly to be offended). Leaving your children at home is not civilized.
Their issues with women are present more than in other modern nations, but the practices are largely condoned of women staying at home should they wish. I realize women are going out to get more jobs, but one should always look at what positions women hold, and how many CEOs in japan are women? how many high positions are held by them?
On the idea of women’s role in society. Most societies in this day (regrettably) have the standard that men are allowed to be promiscuous, but women must somehow remain virgins. The preference for a woman to be a virgin upon marriage is stronger in japan than ti is in other countries (that i have gauged from conversations with japanese, and reading). I heard once that even if a woman’s virginity is taken by the future husband, it somehow becomes less attractive. That is silly. What is cruel, is the strange apathy of victims of sexual crimes. Women who are even raped are not forgiven for losing their virginity. People do not report them, no one gets counseling or help. People internalize trauma, and that is not healthy for any human.
I could go on, but the bottom line, i think japan is immature, and has a lot of growing to do. That is to say, i do not believe japan is THAT civilized. People might say i am hating on them, and that if it works for them then i should not care: well, the point is i am saying what they do does not work.
If you happen to fit into that culture though, great country! lol.
If you have not talked with japanese in depth about issues like this, read anything, or even been to japan, and this information you somehow do not ‘agree’ with, bear in mind that i have.
