Are There Free Anger Management Classes?
I am a 17 year old male and I have a ferocious and explosive temper. I cannot control it at all and my dad said that if I have another rage that he is kicking me out. Money isn’t one of the things that we have a lot of. Is there free anger management classes for people that do not have a lot of money?

Ask your school counselor to see if they offer any anger management groups.
I am a counselor in private practice and some of the schools in my area contract with me to go in teach Anger Management Skills to students (some who have been suspended, some who are frequently sent to the office, etc.)
I have run these kinds of groups in public schools for elementary, middle school and high schools.
And some school counselors or intervention specialists will address anger issues.
Do you have health insurance? Health insurance won’t cover anger management counseling, but often depression is the underlying factor that creates the explosiveness! If you have health insurance you should get a physical to rule out anything health wise that may be causing this; if you do be sure and ask the M.D. to screen you for depression.
If you need to rely on self-help books, I highly recommend books by Ron Potter-Efron-I’ve included a link to some of his books so you can check in the library. Even if you have to buy one, his books are usually are very reasonable in price.
When you are angey take a deep breath andcount from One to twenty and think why should I get angry. It is only causing be to be unhealthy and if i am angry the other party might be happy and know what weakness you have when you are angry as they know what action and word hurt you the most and control over you .What happens if I die from anger the other party may not even feel sorry …….When you forget your own self you will be less angry .Easy to say but hard to practise. You need to train yourself to be calm.
There is a handy dandy workbook. It’s called Pathways to Peace Anger Management Workbook. I found it at my local library but you can order it from Amazon.
you can look for groups like ManKind Project http://www.mkp.org or http://www.menlivingfromtheheart.com, they usually have weekly groups to deal with emotional issues
a lot of the time, you can find free anger management classes at churches.
good luck, and I’m glad to see you’re asking for help. Means alot1
Try self-help books you can borrow from library.
yes there is,, come up here to Canada…its all free!!!!!
I strongly recommend an anger management support group. There is one in almost every decent sized town. They are sort of like Alcoholics Anonymous, but for people with anger management problems. I really think that they can help alot of people.
There are also anger management support groups online… where you can chat with people that have seen the same problems.
Another thing… I had some substance abuse problems and didn’t have any money. I found a counselor that worked for the BPA-Business Psychology Associates. Because of my financial situation… it was free through the BPA. I know that they also work with anger management patients… find someone in your area that is part of the BPA… they might really be able to help you out.
I wish you the best of luck… stick it out…
See anger management, on page 4, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and practise daily, and when needed, one of the relaxation techniques on pages 2, 11, and 2A.
