Best Songs When You Want To Be Happy Being Single?
More specifically, when you want to feel mad at someone in a relationship situation. I’m fed up of listening to sad love songs, or even happy love songs! I want to listen to something empowering about being single.

Having made it through my first Valentines Day as newly-single, I found myself searching for songs that really celebrated and rejoiced the single life. Or at least didn’t make it suck so bad. Here are my top six choices, in no particular order.
It’s My Life – Bon Jovi
Okay, this song just makes me want to dance and scream the lyrics
at the top of my lungs. Bon Jovi has been a favorite of mine since ‘Shot Through the Heart’ was big. The first line ‘It’s My Life’ sets the tone: “This ain’t a song for the broken hearted.” The chorus encourages us to live while we’re alive. It’s now or never.
Since You’ve Been Gone – Kelly Clarkson
In this song, Kelly Clarkson starts out mourning her lost relationship, until she hits the chorus: “Since you’ve been gone, I can breathe for the first time. I’m so movin’ on, yeah yeah. Thanks to you, now I get, I get what I want. Since you’ve been gone.” It’s a great post-breakup song that really points out the benefits of being single!
U + Ur Hand – Pink
The lyrics are sassy, just as you would expect from Pink. It’s the story of Lady Delish, and she is one very strong and independent woman. The song talks about all the various men Lady Delish has had to put up with in her search for Mr. Right. “Keep your drink, just gimme the money. It’s just you and your hand tonight” says it all.
Let U Go – Ashley Parker Angel
This song offers advice more than it is a song celebrating the single life, but I had to include it. I actually used this song in my personal blog to describe how I was feeling about a month or so after we split. I wrote, “Okay, so this song came on the radio this morning as I was pulling into the garage. I was singing along with it at the top of my lungs. Even though I had heard the song a million times before, it struck me how fitting it was.” It was eery. The verses described my relationship perfectly, and the chorus told me how to feel better: “I gotta let you go.”
I Don’t Wanna Be in Love (Dance Floor Anthem) – Good Charlotte

ended up on my list by accident. When I was originally compiling the songs on paper to include in this list, I didn’t even think about ‘I Don’t Wanna Be in Love’. But this song does belong here. With the dance beat and the chorus ordering everyone to “put up your hands” and “say I don’t wanna be in love”, it’s a perfect ‘singles’ song.
Single – Natasha Bedingfield
Okay, I did leave the best for last here. This is the perfect Single Woman Anthem. Natasha starts out by announcing that this is for all the single people out there, and she nails it in the first verse: “I’m not waitin’ around for a man to save me. (Cause I’m happy where I am.) Don’t depend on a guy to validate me. I don’t need to be anybody’s baby. (Is that so hard to understand?) No I don’t need another half to make me.” Need I say more?

A new boy band which is sure to make it big from the UK: VAGABOND.
I highly recommend buying their new CD called “You Don’t Know The Half Of It”. It came out around August 17th 2009.
My personal favorite songs off the album are: “I’ve Been Wanting You” and “I Hope You Know Better”
