When standing: stand straight, shoulders back, smile, make eye contact with people, be polite, keep hands by side as opposed to crossed and try making small conversations with people next to you. No life stories just small talk. While sitting: Sit straight but relaxed and open, like your comfortable. Don’t lean forward but back and always keep a pleasant look on your face. Don’t stare at people or clench your jaw. Just relax and engage yourself.
Hold your head up, put your shoulders back, make good eye contact without staring (that’s the threatening stuff), keep your arms open. If you corss your legs, cross them in the direction of the person talking. If you touch your face with your hands, don’t cover your mouth. Put your hand under your chin to demonstrate interest. Keep a respectful distance from the speaker and don’t invade their personal space.
Have open body language; keep your head up, and relax. take lots of deep breaths (don’t be too obvious though). Also instead of thinking about how uncomfortable you are, think positive thoughts about your situation and the people around you.
Whatever you do, don’t touch your nose. It translates into either that you are lying or uncomfortable.
