Can Gender Identity Confusion Contribute To Low Self Esteem And Shyness?

Throughout my life I have been fairly quiet and suffered from low self esteem. Could this be due to my internal gender conflict?

Yes, dramatically!
A natural response to the issue is to withdraw from sight.
I absolutely recommend therapy but you must find a compatible therapist who understands identity issues and their associated psychosis such as depression and anxiety. Mine has helped a bunch.

Anything about you that makes you feel different can cause you to feel ‘less-than’ if you allow it to. Remember that you are not less than you, and that’s what matters. Being shy is a symptom of not feeling that you are able to relate to other people well. This is part of growing up. As you learn to be happy about who you are, you will find it much easier to relate to other people. Don’t be afraid to talk to a school counselor.

I do thing self esteem plays a huge role in it along with how people are treated.
