Can You Help Me Set Some Goals To Get Out Of This Depression?
I’m more depressed than I have been before, and I am barely functioning. I don’t mean goals like joining a club or making friends because I’m not ready for that yet. Maybe that sounds like I’m not willing to try, but I feel so low that I need to find ways to pick myself up a bit before putting myself out there. I know people say to exercise, but I haven’t been able to get motivated to get out of bed. Maybe if I can set little goals for myself, I might be able to start exercising or doing whatever might help. Can you help me come up with some small goals to start with?

“I will get out of bed, take my medication and eat breakfast.”
“I will find a small task that needs to be done.” Tidy up your desk or throw out some papers.
“I can go on Yahoo Answers to connect with others.”
“I can talk to a friend on the phone.” Maybe even visit a friend or have that person come visit you. From my experience, quite often after I get myself moving I feel a little bit better. I hope you will be doing better soon. Good Luck.
I am really beginning to feel the effects of depression as well. I don’t quite know what triggered it. However, if I had a choice I would be in bed all day! Anyway, since we are in the same boat we can help each other. Maybe you could start by doing something around the house little by little. Clean something you have been meaning to. Afterward, go to the florist and buy a bouquet of flowers and place it on your kitchen table.
