Aside from that Brooke Shields should say what she wants. People are always moaning that everyone is too politically correct and walking on eggshells with what they do and don’t say and why should Brooke Shields have the job of *role model* foisted upon her if it means censoring her honesty?

Such a wrong statement to make to young girls. Losing your virginity too young will damage a girl’s self esteem; she will think of herself as being used, especially after the guy dumps her.Then she will blame herself, and think she is bad, and the damage is done.
Self esteem IS connected to how a girl feels about her body, her looks, her weight, her popularity, her intelligence, so while she can try to manage all of those factors, her virginity is one thing she should hang onto until she is sure she is in real love.

maybe but she probably wasn’t thinking about sending a message. she was probably just thinking of herself and gave an honest answer about how she felt. it’s got to be tough for celebrities living in a fish bowl like they do. they always have to worry about saying the wrong thing. any question they answer could send the wrong message. i’d cut her some slack.

I don’t think most young girls even listen to what anyone above the age of 21 has to say. They just do whatever strikes them as fun, they tend to console with those on their intellect level and in their age category, this is why history repeats itself over and over and over again, and so many teens end up pregnant. The majority of young people have to find out the hard way and they don’t care what others think or say, because they think they already know it all, and you are full of crap. Not you literally, but someone who attempts to give them advice based upon experience.
