Does Andy Roddick Need To Attend Anger Management Classes?
Would this make him a better or worse player? Could he still hit the ball as hard?

I think players need to vent sometimes. I believe your question is referring to Roddick’s incident in the Australian open. Clearly he was wrong, but he needed to get it out of his system. If you play any competitive sport, you’ll easily empathize with him.
i think so.
Yes, I think that Roddick needs to attend anger management classes, but as one of the others said because there is so much emotion to the game and him wearing his emotions on his sleeve I don’t think he could hit the ball as hard.
I dunno about him but, my boyfriend does asap!!!!
Yes I do think he needs anger management classes.
He’s a good tennis player and all, but being too agressive (when not playing tennis) can effect the crowd.
No one likes someone who yells a lot.
I liked Andy Roddick BEFORE he said those horrible things to the umpire at the Australian Open 2008.
No i dont think he needs it im in same thing as him u when miss a shot yeh wat u ment to say omg next short aww hell no man let it out i do when im on tennis court
less anger will just make u more likeable. To become a better player, u need talent… roddick posseses none of that.
he’s just a prick on the court. He acts this way imo in order to scare opponents off.It doesn’t work for guys like Federer,Nadal,Djokovic,Haas,Murray who beats the hell out of Roddick whenever the get the chance!
yes he could use anger managemeant classes.. it would probably keep him more positive, help him clear his mind to elevate his game when he needs too…. and perhaps it would help him seal a win….
alot of us could use anger management classes at one point.. nothing is wrong with it
i think he wouldnt need the classes if he played better, but i dont think he has the talent for that. so classes are the next best thing.
yes
lol. You would think so at first glance watching him play. But, no, I think as long as Andy is keeping his ethics in, being ethical, and improving his game, that he won’t need anger management.
Just my opinion, but maybe a steady girlfriend instead of ‘playing the field’ so much, would be good for Andy. I know I hear him talking about chasing girls and talking about girls a lot. Maybe he’s just a tad frustrated or needs some lovin:)
I don’t like how fair-weather some fans are. I mean, if this is about him ‘telling off the ump at AO ’08′, and now some people aren’t fans anymore, then they weren’t really fans to begin with!
If you understood the entire situation, how Andy got upset because he was trying to reason with the ump, who was basically saying that Andy could not have hit a ball that he felt he could have. I understand where Andy was coming from… I agree, he does sound “angry”, but at that point in the game he had reason to get upset. There was a bad call, that was gotten away with and he suffered.
We all get mad about our tennis game when we feel we’ve been cheated, and none of us are at his level of competitiveness, give Andy a break, have a little faith!!
he probably could, but he is great so i’m gonna say no, i’d hate to see him become a whimp and start hitting softer..lol
A huge part of tennis is emotion. Roddicks anger gives him an edge that keeps him competetlve. However, this is a two way street, his anger causes him to make waaaay to many unforced errors.
That is like spraying perfume on a pile of poo. It may make him a little more tolerable but it doesnt address the real issues. He is by far the worst returner in the top 10, a poor defender and is predictable.
As much as I like him to play tennis, he should do what ever is
in the best interest for him to care of his emotions. Given the
competition he is in, it is hard for him to elevate his game. He
needs to control himself and play is game and give the best he
can.
