First decide just how organized you care to be. You have to have a backpack, right? And a zipper notebook so your fresh notebook paper stays fresh. And a pencil bag to keep the small crud in so you wont drop it or lose it.
If you have a locker then you have to have a lock and if your memory goes AOL like mine (I’m older than dirt) then you need your combination written down in your wallet.(You can just tuck in the little sheet that came with the lock)
Assign a specific place in your locker to each bulky thing like hats, gloves, and your coat and then divide up the space thats left among the other things you put there. Give each group a “home”spot where they can fit each day for the rest of the year. If you find things falling out of your locker floor then find a box that will fit there and hold those items in place. Or one of my high school friends called his lower cardboard blocker “Moma” because it keep his locker neater.
What else is important to you…ah! Homework assignments! Okay how do you want to keep these? I used a yellow legal pad in college because it allowed me a lot of room to write the days assignments and any other reminders I needed for the day. When all the assignment were completed I filed it in a folder for test review. (along with any graded and returned work) I only had three classes so I used one tri-fold (3 pocket) folder that I glued up myself but if you want to you can use more.
More about homework. This is where being well organized pays off. Have extra pencils, paper, and a full set of the work tools you use at school available at home right down to your protractor and erasers. Never have to go out a buy something like glue just to complete your assignments. Have Good lights and a clean work surface even it it is just a TV tray that you keep folded up in your closet. Be able to begin your work within 5 minutes of entering you work area. Next have the best reference books you can afford. A dictionary and a thesaurus are basics. A calculator to check your answers is helpful. Decide on a time span each evening that you are ready to devote to your assignment and set a timer to see if your estimate of your work speed is accurate. The more you pay close attention the quicker you will work.
Gym clothes and shoes go in one of those cloth shopping totes which you can find cheap at lots of garage sales. This gets the handles tied shut when it is in your locker. My grandson uses one with his school name on it but any bright tote will remind you to “TAKE ME HOME AND WASH ME!”
I also like to use the big cereal boxes to store my completed papers in.
They hold a ream and a half of typing paper(750 sheets) so they will hold a lot of completed assignments and or art work in a neat package that will store on a shelf or in a bookcase or a file drawer.
One other tool I have found helpful… Since I got my computer there is never enough working room on my desk so I have a board that just fits like a lid on my top desk drawer. It shoves back out of the way when I need in the draw but lays right in its place on top when I pull the drawer out. It proves very useful to me.
I keep ear plugs in my backpack for when I have to study in noisy places. And a book light that clips onto my glasses for low light situations. And I keep a water bottle at my study desk so I don’t have to fight dehydration when I am doing desk work. Our brains need water to function well.
That about all of the important things. Good luck

Bring a binder and separate each class, buying more than 2 binders is really not necessary because then you’ll have a heavy bag full of stuff that you could just put together in one folder and text books. Use the planner the school gives you or buy one yourself so that you won’t forget your homework and stuff.

okay, im dyslexic so it’s extremely hard for me to keep organized, no one gets how hard it is…
What helps me is having a draw string bag like an Adidas’s one and having:
one pencil bag
one book for reading
my homework binder where i keep all of my home work
and i have separate binders for my electives and any other subjects that require a binder.
