Does Organized Religion Understand Jesus At All?
He was a rebel, a revolutionary, a teacher. He didn’t work, he broke rules and associated with social pariahs. He taught love and forgiveness and tore it up when he saw injustice.
With that in mind, would Jesus enjoy the bronzed steeples, the Brooks Brothers ministers, the stuffy church protocol, the phony niceties from the rabid gossips in the “Womens Group”, the hand carved monument of him tortured, bleeding and dead on a cross, or the locked church doors Monday thru Saturday? How did this get SO off track?

Comments on Does Organized Religion Understand Jesus At All?
no, im sure Jesus would enjoy the outdoor meeting of souls sitting on the ground with their bibles rather than the churches that are dipped in precious metals filled with people just as ‘shiny’…. thats just my opinion though.
Jesus started a Church. This Church is the Catholic Church, started by Jesus and given a promise which is a guarantee – His Spirit, the Holy Spirit to lead the Church into all truth, until the end of time.
Whatever Jesus was, or wasn’t, according to you, He still claimed to be God, He still died on the cross, He still rose from the dead, and He proved that He was in fact God.
Jesus did much more than you claim, and the fact that He is God is enough for me. I belong to the Church that He started, and that is also enough for me.
When I am dead, I will find out if I was following the wrong religion.
You see, any born again Christian that has truly seen the light understands that christianity is not a religion. If you think it is, i’m sorry but it’s just not.
Christianity is NOTHING MORE than a relationship between YOU, and GOD.
You are not required to go to church, you are not required to pray x amount or for x long, you are not required to abstain from certain food, you are not required to do certain things,
you are only required to love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. And with GENUINE faith, genuine, love, good works will come out because you do them to please God, the father whom you love.
For Jesus did not send to bring peace to the world, but to carry a sword. To preach the gospel of repentance and to forgo sin.
Your are correct in one sense. We His church have become so carnal. On the other hand, Jesus did not rebel, He just fulfilled the law of God in what is was meant to be. The religious people of the day, the Pharisees had twisted the laws of God to fit their own sinful desires. Pretty much like a lot of church folk have done today. Sin is still sin. Wrong is still wrong. Jesus did not teach tolerance of sin, he preached repentance of that sin. Not that we can do it within ourselves, but that we trust Him to overcome all things in us. Sadly, the church has made it so complicated that most sinners can’t come in through the door without being looked down upon.
No Jesus would say that his church just needs more work. While you list all the bad traits, try making a list of the good ones. The only reason why you would not be able to do so, would be because you have not taken the time to look.
Since you are so much into Jesus surely you realize that the Bible says
Hebrews 10:24-26 (King James Version)
24And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Yes.
The Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodox churches, Oriental Orthodox churches, and the Assyrian Church of the East have Apostolic succession.
These churches are historically traceable back to the original Twelve Apostles, Im pretty sure they understand Jesus.
Modern day Pharisee’s – that’s my final answer.
For the record, I believe that probably only about 20% of self-avowed Christians are truly lovers of Christ and part of the Bride – the rest are cultural Christians (tares).
The Lord was said to have wept at Lazarus’ death and the pain it caused Mary and Martha – I am of the opinion He is weeping over His church as well.
Even so, Lord Jesus…Come!!!
NO they do Not………………..nor do most self called christians………they don’t even know Gods Name nor believe HE is who He says He is……yet go to ‘church’ every week and refuse to read and or hear the Word of God and get mad at you for telling them what it says!!!
When you walk the path of religion you tend to get left behind.
Jesus never taught religion of any kind. He wanted to know what was in your heart and from that He would judge you.
I’d like to think he’s laughing his *** off.
Jesus didn’t start any religion or christianity. People did.
does organized religion understand jesus? no not at all
how did this get so off track? when the romans took over christianity 1800 years ago
bafore that christians actually followed what jesus taught very very few do now
There are bad apples in every barrel. None of us fully understand Jesus but some of us understand more about a relationship with him than others.
Because Jesus is God, and now it’s the responsibilities of sinful men to carry on his legacy.
It’s call selling. People will go to every extent to sell their ideologies. Case in point chihuahuas to sell tacos!!
YES BUT IN FORTY DIFFERENT WAYS ALL WRONG & BLASPHEMES
You guys did it to yourselves.
I believe even as in his day, he would still be at odds with the ecclesia
Most of that is control and money, something else He didn’t care about.
First thing is the Church themself teaches Paul teaching not Jesus.. for the muslims, we do honour him as great prophet..
I think just like in the past many distort who Jesus was.
Jesus is a historical figure that was born around 2 BC, died and rose again about 30 AD. Jesus is the English version of his name Yeshua from the Hebrew language.
Jesus is the son of God and the Saviour (Messiah/Christ) as written about 700 years before Jesus was born in Isaiah,
Isaiah 53
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.
and in John 1
29The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
…
34″I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God.”
I think Thomas said it best!
John 20:
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Jesus is God that came in the flesh that so that the sins could be paid for of those willing to believe and accept Jesus as Lord and sincerely repent of their sins so they might be made acceptable to a Holy and Just God. Grace and Mercy are God giving us the forgiveness we don’t deserve but that the punishment was paid for by Jesus. In our imperfect lives we should want forgiveness and love and do not want His justice.
Daniel Wallace (Wrote the textbook on ancient Greek) in an interview in the book “The Case for the Real Jesus” says this “It’s disturbing that when it comes to the Christian faith, people don’t really want, or know how, to investigate the evidence”, are you interested in learning who he is?

So don’t take my word for it or anyone here, do your own investigation and look at the sources you are using. Lee Stroebel, C.S. Lewis, Alister McGrath, Malcolm Muggridge and Josh McDowell have all looked at the evidence and became not just Christians but writers and speakers declaring Jesus as Saviour!
