11

When i set a goal, i am always highly motivated but then it falls pretty fast soon after…does this happen to you and how do you keep your motivation up and going?
Also of all the goal setting ways out there, which one really works or is atleast easy to follow please?
thanks x

Right now I’m very motivated. Its almost wrestling season. The way I do it is to tell myself that, somewhere, some place, a future opponent of mine is working harder that I am, and if I want to beat him I have to push myself even farther.

I have a clipboard of my goals and i have a list in my wallet. For the more imediate tasks on a daily basis i just write and cross all that i have achieved that day.

simple:
because you do not really want to achieve your goal. most likely it stems from conditioning from your child hood.
Translation, you parents where losers too;
winners don’t set goals, they set records

I found using a free, goals-oriented website called Sproximo really helpful. It helps you not only define your goals but also helps you set up milestones along they way to signify your are on your way to reaching them. It also sends email reminders to you don’t forget what your are committed to achieving.

See yourself doing it in your mind. That can work. I think it is called visualization.
Think it through to the remotest detail and see yourself do it and that might spring you into action to get motivated to get it done.

Motivation relies on interest and actual progress. If you lack either of these, even to a small degree, you will quickly become demotivated.
This is why partners are so helpful for individual success. Especially a partner wishing to provide the extra impetus during “flat” patches. Hence the adage, “Behind every successful man is a strong woman!”

breaking goals down to smaller targets. Consistency.

set small goals to begin with but have bigger picture in mind.
that way for every milestone you reach you are nearer the bigger picture

Be yourself. Then ask yourself why does the goals I set myself fall flat? What did you do today. Were you content with what you achieved today? It doesn’t have to be materialistic. It can be just a good feeling of being alive. if you have that you are doing well in your life. If not ask yourself what do I need to change in myself. May be you are trying for unnecessary goals. What will they prove if you succeeded in achieving them. Make you look good in front of others? Start with being good to yourself the rest will follow.

Always keep motivated in whatever you do in life, or you will find yourself at the back of the queue. Always look ahead and it does not matter if you do not know the job, use your brain and go for it. I had no Education, only an ordinary Council School, as we could not afford to go to Grammar School….things like that were none too easy in my day. That did not stop me though and using my brains, and talking to people I always got the job that I went for. I reached the top in my job, and attained the status that I wanted. Use your motivation to the best of your ability, and good luck to you. Remember you are as good as the next guy…if not better…
