well you make a good point supposedly there is 0 healing percentage for an abuser… i think i’ve seen abusers get worse towards their victoms after taking those classes… somehow I think that in learning how their behavior affects their victoms that somehow they get some jolly out of learning what behavior works best to control their victom.
They are doing it to try to help someone who may not want help. Any therapy will only work if the client decides to use it.
Judges have the option of ordering therapy, or simply sending someone to jail. Ordering therapy is a statement that the judge thinks the person is basically ok, but just overwhelmed with something at the time. If the judge didn’t see the person as fundamentally healthy, and able to work through this crises, then he or she would just put that person away.
I don’t know but I think EVERYBODY should have it. I think it should be taught from 1st grad up in schools everywhere. Take advantage of it. I’m sure there are techniques you learn in there that help a lot with life. If it were a computer class..no one would bother to take it. I guess that’s why they”order” it. Helps keep a lot of people out of jail and helps them learn to control their temper. Maybe (if it ‘s you ) ..you can come back and be a super contributor on here. Lots of people have anger problems and want to know how to control themselves. Good Luck.
