Have You Accomplished Everything Now That You’d Set Out To Do?
What happens when you run out of major ambitions?
Maybe you don’t care anymore about getting a better house or making a lot of money or having a nice car or being well-dressed.
You’re done collecting.
You only keep working because not working makes you feel funny.
Should you try to set some new impossible goal so you can work toward it, or accept whatever comes along?

I have never sat down and said, I’m going to do this and this and this. I take each day at a time. There are things I’d like to do (it usually involves travel!), but I have never been the kind of person that worries about it.
Jesus said, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all things will be added to you. I guess I very much live my life that way; I think about Him, study the bible, and just live life. He brings me good things because He is a good God.
I believe you will not be run out of things to do unless you wanted to stop and come-what-may. There is always more to life not just by earning money, be with people that you love that you will be happy of, if you have already so much then give it away to people who needed it most they would be more happier with it. Or may be try the things that you haven’t done before you might find your purpose there.
I hardly accomplished what I set out to do but have accomplished a lot by something that is set by a larger than me that lead me tenderly into achievements too. I am only a part of the huge ‘whole’ that has ordained purpose larger than life for the good of each and everyone if only we follow it!
You are actually describing my life, except I have no house, money, a car, and i am sick in my pajamas, coming down with a cold or something. I wish I had some impossible ambitions; I don’t even have possible ones….
There’s always something different to do – and it’s doesn’t have to be about getting more stuff, having a bigger car or house
You can contribute to the world in different ways, or just find ways to make yourself happy
Get some less materialistic ambitions.
Sure, pretty much, but I haven’t run out of dreams. I can pursue my dreams and accomplish many for the rest of my life.
no i haven’t. i had my first visit to a university today, so bring on the next challenge
yes
Earthly objectives are moving targets, once you reach an objective you will find another one in the horizon. It just never ends.
As for those who disbelieve, their deeds are like a mirage in the desert which the thirsty takes for water till he reaches it to find that there was nothing, and finds God with him who settles his account, for God is swift at the reckoning. (39)
I haven’t yet experienced all the things in life I ever wanted to.
But I’ve experienced things far in excess of what I once thought was even possible.
I don’t care about houses or money or cars or clothes, but that’s because I’ve never cared about those things.
I will admit, I *am* a major lacker of ambition, and that’s no doubt in no small part because of the amount and degree to which I’ve experienced the world. Still, there are many things I want to do before I die. But, if I end up not doing them, I’ll still be content with things I have already done.
