Have You Ever Had Anger Management? Did It Work?
I have problems controlling my temper and I was looking towards anger management. Does it work or do you feel it’s a waste of time? Also, if anyone has advice on controlling anger I’m very open to an opinion. Thanks

It works if you want it to. Most people only go to anger management because they are court ordered and they have a bad attitude going in and they dont want to change, but if you truly want to change then it will work for you, you get out what you put in. I am a drug and alcohol counselor, and I send alot of my patients to anger management some of them come out completely changed, and some come out the same as they were when I sent them. The best thing you could do is to stop and breath before you get mad at someone. If you feel yourself about to get angry just take a step back and a deep breath and think before you do anything you will regret
Good for you for reaching out and asking for help! I don’t have a recommendation for your specific request, but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone! I too, I used to struggle with anger. Like all emotions, anger is a very natural response to a particular situation. Anger becomes a detrimental force when it develops into uncontrollable rage, hurting those around us, or when it simply controls our lives and also can have serious physical and emotional implications. If left unmanaged, anger can affect your health, your career, and your relationship with family and friends.
Whether your anger is relatively mild or frighteningly intense, if it’s controlling your life, you need to manage the situation now. There will always be things that make you angry; your react action is what matters. With support and counseling you can learn how to change your thinking, to see the situation from a new perspective so your anger no longer controls you. Simply stated, Anger Management counseling will give you the tools to take your life back and resolve the triggers that result in the extreme anger reactions.
Anger Management: Read one of the books (you can probably find them in the library). See an acupuncturist and take Chinese herbs to replenish your body. Meditating on a regular basis probably can be one thing that will help you the most; the 15 or 20-minutes per day are totally worth it.
I have greatly benefited from attending Anger Management classes. Working on managing my anger has been quite a journey for me. I came to realize that there is not the magical one thing that will make you controlling your temper and will make you so calm that you won’t yell anymore. Reaching out for support and connecting with others is a great idea. It’s hard work & there are many positive things that you will encounter on this journey. I think an anger management class is a good idea on controlling your temper.
I hope this helped you out. I know they’re helping me out. I wish you all the best!
