I don’t have the money to afford therapy or anger management classes. It’s really taking a toll on my every day life when the littlest things will irritate me.

Lay on the couch all day and stay away from people.

It is not you. It is the people who are making unending demands and nit picking criticism. They have pushed you to your limit. You cannot stop them because this is what they do best. You can only get away from them. Go take a walk in a forest and make time for yourself. Stop poisoning yourself with neurotic people and drama filled relationships. Clean up your life. Stop drinking, smoking and watching so much television. These sorts of habits become irritating.

Anything repetitive will become stressful. Think of a dripping tap. It will drive you nuts right? Turn off the people in your life and refresh yourself with solitude and quietude and something fresh.

Hi Dan,

It is very much possible for you to deal with your situation without undergoing paid therapy or anger management classes.

I wrote an article just a couple of days ago on how to handle stress, and I believe it will be of good help to you. I have come up with, and strongly recommend, a three tiered approach to handle stress

The three tiers are:
1. Responsive
2. Adaptive
3. Preventive

I’ve defined each of these three tiers and some simple essentials to help achieve each of them. I’m sure it will make a huge difference to your life if you put it into practice. You can read about the three tiered approach at:
http://blogs.hotpotpourri.com/secrets-of-success/recreation/how-to-handle-stress-the-three-tiered-approach/

Having said that, I can see that your problem is not so much of stress as it is of being overwhelmed. I recommend that you read the following articles on my blog:

1) What to do when overwhelmed with self pressure
2) Have you ever been a failure?
3) Living on the higher plane
4) Reasons to be happy – The “Why I’m Happy List”

These would help you get a different perspective of stress, happiness and how to deal with life. You can find these at the following URL on my site:
http://blogs.hotpotpourri.com/secrets-of-success/categories/happiness/

Do leave a comment at the bottom of the articles to let me know how they helped you.

You may also want to subscribe to the RSS feed made available there if you would like to know when I publish more such articles.

Cheers!
