How can I express myself in a coherent and organized fashion without being boring?
Whenever I try to give my own opinion about something or whenever I am asked for an explanation, I have trouble trying to express myself clearly. My thoughts get very cloudy and I have to struggle to get out what I want to say. Whatever I do get out however, is rather cluttered and disorganized. I’ve listened to myself speak and I’ve managed to put myself asleep!
Whenever I’m not speaking however, I can express myself fine through thinking, writing, etc. It’s rather frustrating because I can hardly keep a good conversation going for more than a few seconds without boring the other person to death. Is there some way to fix this?

Try to use as many words of one syllable as possible. Use declarative sentences. Avoid the passive voice and the subjunctive mood.
You could use the Socratic method, which is to ask them questions. Rarely are people bored when answering their own questions, but it does happen.
Give yourself a limit of 6 words to answer any question; then wait to see if the other party wants further details and what details they want.
Try to make your conversations fun and smart at the same time. Intelligence shouldn’t be looked down upon. Don’t worry if you think you sound boring. Try to spice things up and make it more interesting.
I wonder if you aren’t so worried about this “problem” that you are only giving half your attention to the conversation. Don’t try to Wow the other person. Just relax and respond briefly to what they are saying. Give yourself a chance to warm up and ease into the conversation. Maybe take a brief pause before you speak. It might give you a chance to organize your thoughts.
