How can I have a better self esteem without being vain/self centered?

4

I would love to have a better self esteem, but I just don’t know how. I hate the way I look, and I’m just getting tired of it.

Being vain is a judgement call. If you feel it then step back and see if there is a real reason for this feeling. Such as putting yourself ahead of others. If there is no real reason then you are being to hard on yourself. You may have a fear of success or responsibility. You will have more self esteem if you confront this for what it really is.

Start a journal about this subject for just three months or until it passes.

It’s hard. One way is (you may feel silly but do it!) telling yourself everytime you see yourself “I am beautiful!” but this is just one step. Seventeen magazine has been doing an article series titled “Body Peace”. If you go on there website and follow the instructions (hard core) then you will eventually build up your self esteem. Try it! Sorry I wasn’t more help.

Accept yourself as a person. Brush up on your dressing. If overweight, reduce the additional weight and get into shape. Self-motivate yourself by reading up on motivational books. Socialized with more cheerful friends. Daily recite to yourself that you like who you are.

try :

1)suggest prayer(if you are religious)

2)get self esteem affirmations from the internet and recite them out loud looking in the mirror 20 minutes in the morning and 20 min before bed at night..if this mirror technique is done regularly and properly,it will help you get rid of hidden subconscious negative thought patterns and belief systems.

3) write down positive self confidence affirmations everyday

4) hang out with positive friends who encourage youand get rid of the negative ones.this is huge.

5)join a group/community where you will feel a sense of belonging and contribution.

6)hobbies.

7)regarding looks- join a gym if you like, get fit and u might even meet like-minded people who are into fitness and taking caring of themselves.
