As Nike says, just do it! Once you get tidy, here is a helpful hint to stay that way. Every evening before you turn in, take 15-30 minutes to put things away. Then you will wake up to a neat room and feel better! Do homework at the same time every day and schedule time with friends around that time–they will get into your habit once they learn it.
If you need a break from school, do homework later. If you prefer to get it out of the way, do it right after school and have a high protein snack for brainpower as you do it. Then, the rest of the evening is free to do whatever! ( snack can be peanut butter and or cheese on crackers or bread–don’t knock eating P.B. with cheese until you try it! or maybe some nuts or a trail mix….)
Go one step at a time. Pick a particular area you want to straighten up. Sort into three piles (or baskets if you have em handy – keep, donate (or sell if your mom’s gonna have a garage sale), and trash.
Sort-it may take you a good couple half days but worth it. Simplify everything and then you can clean easily
First of all, you want to get your schoolwork organized. Invest in an expandable file to put your papers in. Each pocket is for a different subject. 14 pocket ones are lovely and splurge a little on a good, sturdy fabric one with a zipper. They cost a little more, but last longer and don’t crack like the plastic ones do. Next, buy a notepad or small notebook. Every single day, write down every single assignment for every single class, even if you’ve already done it. Write long-term projects down every day, as an annoying, nagging reminder. Check off each assignment when you finish it. Don’t forget to write tests and quizzes. Set aside at least 2 hours every day to do homework. It may take you longer though. If you finish early, study, review notes, work on a project, or just read.
Now, your locker…choose one day to spend maybe 20 minutes extra at school to clean it out. Throw away any junk and take home anything you don’t need at school. Organize your books according to classes and don’t forget some air freshener! Wipe down all surfaces with a damp paper towel. Once a week, spend 10 minutes cleaning it.
As for your room, pick a day,any day, to clean THOROUGHLY! Change your sheets and make your bed, dust, vacuum, mop {if applicable}, wash your windows, and organize any messy spaces. Pick up any clutter and clean out your closet. Do any other chores you’re assigned.
Social life! You don’t have to become a hermit, don’t worry. However, you don’t always have to spend every free second with buddies. Three or four hours a week are more than enough. Go to a movie, a casual restaurant, or the park. Join some kind of club or team, and you’ll make friends and you’ll always be sure to see them when you practice or meet!
I know exactly how you feel. I never, ever have time to do anything either. Just try to do what needs to get done in an allotted time frame and always do your best and work diligently. Sorry this answer is soooo long, too!
