how do i become a better person, and get my life organized?

2

well,
my grades are in the poop-hole,
and i just got caught smoking weed,
now for a while i was a pot head,
and yes, being high is one of the most amazing thing i have felt,
but its time to stop, but i don’t know where to start,
help?
please give me some starting goals/points i can work on,
or what you did to stop smoking, or get your grades up, or something along the lines of that.

You took the first step in realizing you can use a little boost. Now it’s time to be bold and take control of your life. The poor grades should give you motivation for the next test, and until then, you can use time and energy to get extra help and study until you understand a concept. The best way we learn is independently. Remember that you should never give up on your education, for grades determine your future.

As for the weed, should you have been smoking it in the first place? That stuff kills your system. In order to prevent getting caught from happening again, you must try to quit. It may take time and a lot of patience, but if you’re willing, you can do it and save yourself.
You realize you should stop, so start trying to stop. You must go slow and take baby steps. One day don’t smoke weed. Then two days. Keep going. And if you happen to go against your will and smoke it again, place a dollar in a jar. You have control and the only thing stopping you is the negativity in the mind. Do not be too hard on yourself for things will work out in time if you work at it. You must believe you can do it before actually trying.

Best of luck.

I highly suggest “Get Things Done”, an organization system that was developed by David Allen.

It may seem really lame at first, as it’s geared towards business administration types, but it is actually really popular in the “geek” community.

It leaves a lot of creative freedom in how exactly you want to manage your time, it is a little mini hobby in itself (which should help fill up the time you would spend smoking).

One warning, if you don’t have any personal goals (learn guitar, pass my courses, memorize all the countries in the world) this can’t help you. You have to figure out where your going on your own, though this system makes it really easy to do that.
