How Do I Cultivate A Positive Attitude Between Teenagers?
Hi everyone,
I work with a youth group that is incredibly negative towards each other. They insult and isolate each other and I feel that it is very cruel. I want them to get to a place where they are loving and speak to each other in love. I’m hoping that they can become accepting to different types of people regardless of they look or speak.
So I’m looking for exercises they can do that will cultivate positive views towards each other and towards themselves.

You just have to keep in mind they’re teenagers.
When I was growing up I was a snot towards my parents and my younger brother. You just have to learn to deal with it because it’s going to be there a while, teenagers are in their prime and think they can live life with no accountability. For now, it’s going to be difficult but remember that you love them and that it isn’t a permanent attitude. Soon enough they’ll respect each other and they’ll love one another and be appreciative of a nice household with a mother who cares. The best you can do right now is communicate with them and try to set ground rules between them. Keep and maintain a positive attitude, even though you may feel like you want to yell your head off and bite your finger nails…. Just remain cool and know it’s literally only a “stage.”
As the saying goes no pain, no gain? Cultivating a positive attitude on a group of teenagers is a tall order and to fit the bill, you needs good strategy, strong determinations, strong enforcer but with care and sincerity in heart, cunning and most importantly, able to protect yourself. Do you have such a person available?
Maybe you can borrow the army tactics and better still T-loan a Sergeant Major from the army. It might works, you know?
Oh! Have you seen Freedom Writers? It’s amazing, you should watch it to get some ideas! I call you Blessed, and I believe that its wonderful that you are working with a youth group, as I am too! Please continue and know its okay to be discouraged but dont stay there! youve got to KEEP MOVING! The enemy never takes a rest why should you? Oh LORD, im startin to preach, let me go for’ I hurt myself…LOL hope I helped!!!!
