How Do I Get And Stay Organized?
I’ve always looked at the organized people and I’m like wow. I can be organized for a short period of time. I just can’t stay organized. This is very important. I’m always smarter when I’m organized. Well I am one of the top 4 smartest at school.

I’m very organized, but everyone has their own way of doing it. This is what I do:
- Keep a notebook handy and write down every assignment you have to do (as you get them). Also write down any other things you need to do (register for SATs, mow the lawn, etc). If you must, write down the times you are doing each thing. Make sure you leave time for relaxation.
- I have a folder for every subject in school, but if you don’t do that, organize a few folders. Label one “Homework.” Then label another one “Notes.” Make a third one called “Other.”
- Get a pencil case or something to keep all of your small supplies in.
- Use a backpack. Sure, it’s not “cool,” but it really helps me stay organized. Nothing ever falls out.
- Keep a calendar handy (I have one hanging in my room). Write down important events, days that you have no school, due dates, test dates, etc.
- Keep your room/house clean. If you’re in an environment that is messy, then chances are you’ll get back into your bad habit.
Most importantly, put everything back where you found it!!! If you do an English essay, be sure to place it back in your Homework or English folder asap. Then you’ll always know where everything is and it will be orderly and neat!
