How do I meet this goal of beating my anxiety?

right now, i am entering a phase of rebirth. i will be transfering to a new school after only a semester at this one (so i’ll still be a freshman), so basically i’ll be there in january. i am also setting goals that i MUST meet by that time and that involves beating my anxiety. any tips on what i should do to meet this goal?

Realize your normal, give yourself a break, and give yourself permission to not be perfect- nobody is. Try yoga, deep breathing, see a doctor for an anti-anxiety if you need to. You say you are setting goals that you MUST meet- what will happen if you don’t meet them, will your head explode? It’s good to set goals, but you need to realax a little also. Some people aren’t as disciplined at setting goals as you are. It sounds like you aren’t so great at relaxing.

FEAR -False Evidence Appearing Real
6-steps to deal with waves of sadness, anger, worry etc…
!. Accept -float do not fight
2.Permission- I know what this is
3.Breath-1-2 in nose 1-2-3-4 out mouth
(slows down breathing)
4.Inner dialogue- positive, comforting
5.Distract-action mental & physical-15 minutes
6.Let time pass- discomfort always passes

Week 3
As a man thinketh so he is proverbs 23:7
I choose the thoughts I entertain
I know positive thoughts-produce positive feelings
I will look for good
Negative thinking is a bad habit I can break
I am worthy of inner peace
I am alive & participating in my day
I am proud of my accomplishments
6-steps to deal with negative thoughts
1. Recognize-negative thought- put up stop sign
2.Question-is it true, reasonable, rational, realistic?
3.Re-structure-state the positive
4.Transport-negative state for positive one
5.Problem solve-Improve situation
6.Write- change negative thought to positive
Positive thought can not co-exist with negative thoughts!
Change mind-Change Mood

Week 4
“ I feel much better now that I give up control of the universe”
8 -steps to deal with Unrealistic expectations
1.Would I ask this of anyone else?
2.Is this really my responsibility?
3.Am I over-reactive
4.How can I be more effective & less affected?
5.Am I trying to be perfect?
6.Who am I trying to impress?
7.Is this my goal?
8. Do I really have to control this?
Expect less stress, sadness& anxiety!

you know what i just read an article online that really helped me understand anxiety a lot better

i bet the article would help you as you progress towards your goal of beating anxiety
