Nice question. The most of people became egocentric and doesn´t pay attention to others. Acting that way they have more time for themselves. They deny to think about bad things in life, which makes life more simple.
If you tell yourself all the time that nothing really matters, one day that will be the truth.
Think about happy things in your life, about kids, sunrise, flowers, music, anything you like the most.
Whatever is bad now, remember, once must pass. Sing “Always look on the bright side of life” and “Don´t worry, be happy” by M.P.show.
Remember that nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain, and smile all the time.
Actually, I don´t know. I´m just happy today, with no reason. But, you didn´t saw me yesterday.

I read a lot of uplifting books and spiritual books. If you not into that I suggest faking it until you make it. I get up and count my blessing. I look around and think I have all this and some people are homeless. Then I help others out that have less than me. Getting out of myself helps me. I know the world can and is a negative place but there are a ton of things you can do. Try a hobby or gardening, something or anything to get out that type of thinking. Meditation is another good way to feel better. Good luck and do some research on the net about positive thinking and books to read. I would suggest any Neale Donald Walsh books or Deepak Chopra.

There are so many great answers already. The only thing that I can add, is that you are responsible for yourself, your behaviour and your attitude. It’s no one elses job, it’s yours. Saying that, it also isn’t your job to make someone else happy. That’s where my problem use to be. My wife is always unhappy about something, and she use to make me feel it was my job to make her happy. Impossible, and it was wearing me down completely. Finally realized that I have alot to be thankful for and the only problem that I couldn’t do anything about was her and her happiness. It wasn’t mine to deal with.
Every since then, I’ve been able to do all the things others have told you and it’s true.
The world is negaive, everywhere you turn they are out to get your money through cheating, lieing and decieving. It’s hard to deal with all that and the normal problems; but you can.

Actually it is not as hard as you may think, However the answer lies within yourself. The number one trick is to be happy for what you have. Do away with what you do not really need. Avoid gossip. Do not compete with your peers. If you do not have the cash to pay for it in full you do not need it. Those are but a few. Follow those simple things and soon you shall be happy, and stress free, I am.

I agree with JC : God and Faith! If you don’t have these 2 things you’ll NEVER BE HAPPY!

My faith in God keeps me positive and happy.
I feel truly blessed. And yes, I have stress, medical problems etc., but it could always be worse….
I am happy! Each day is a gift from God.

I read that, taking the whole world into account, if you have a job, some money in the bank, a comfortable place to live, some loose change in a bowl at home, this puts you in the top 10% of people who are very, very lucky. I agree with “original”, turn off the TV, promise yourself to do one random act of kindness a day and rememer that each day is a gift. That may sound corny but that and my faith in God keeps me positive and it’s amazing how good you feel when you do something as simple as holding a door for someone.

well that’s exactly why. sometimes all you’ve got to hang on to is hope.

this world is becoming faster and faster day by day. we are responsible for that. we want everything right here and right now. for that we work harder and harder to get extra money and increment and promotion. you are not the only one who suffers from the rat race. if u see closely at it, u will find this negativity and unsatisfaction are completely man-made. u cannot escape from this world…u will have to live heRe ad work here.
as u r extremely stressed up, use this trick. dont sit and watch much TV. rather listen to some good and light music. u should always think that “i can or i will do”. if u get a negative result, think the God has done it purposely….we may not see what reward He will give us later. travell once or twice a year….dont have to travel in an expensive place…but a calm and quite place which takes u close to nature. laugh with heart content and convince urself that u r happy.
nothing is negative untill u see the negative side of everything.
u change your outlook and inspire ur self making a plan for future. keep faith on God, see how the things change.

the first time you find yourself feeling that way take a look at someone who is worse of then you
there are so many ways to take things for granted we have no idea until they are gone
for example one day you are really depressed you may take a walk and think how bad averything is but you walk right past someone in a wheelchair and dont even acknowledge the fact that you are so lucky to be able to walk
try to enjoy every little thing that is common for you it helps

Turn off the computer and the television. Deal with one bill a day, or maybe two. Get them out of the way and in the mailbox early.
Go outside. Take some deep breaths. Look around you and appreciate what you see.
Try new things. Things you never thought of trying before. Even if you’re not good at them, who cares?
Try to remember that every single one of us will die…quit worrying about how or when. Your soul will know the correct time to leave your body, so just put it out of your mind.
Treat yourself well. Care for your body. Pamper your mind. Re-learn how to enjoy your life.
Make new friends. Volunteer your time. Help someone else.
I guarantee if you do all these things, your life will be better.

First, you cannot take on the problems of the world – you can only try to maintain serenity in your little portion of it. Be sure to have a job you like, pay your bills on time – if you can’t afford it don’t buy it , live where you enjoy living, always put little something away for a rainy day – maintain a balance of work and relaxation – maintain your family and friendships, put your priorities in order. I know sometimes it can be difficult, but it can be done. You just have to be realistic in what you want out of life. Set small goals for yourself, reaching for the stars is wonderful concept, but when you fall short, you only get disappointed and frustrated. Most of all, enjoy life, this is not a dress rehersal – you only get one shot at it, so make the most of it – laugh often, love deeply. Good luck!
