How do you become a better person or have a better attitude in general?

I sometimes feel that I am so negative and want to be a more positive thinker. I am tired of always waking up thinking great what will today bring and having a bad attitude. Anyone else have the same problem or any advise?

yeah sometimes i do. I like to listen to music that makes me feel happy. and yoga releases a lot of stress to tell you the truth.

If you want to become a better person try small things first… like saying thanks alot once your used to it you will start doing more nice things… changing your attitude isnt something you can change instantly its something that takes time

Yes, finding something you really love to do can exstinguish a lot of the negative thinking. I used to be like you not that long ago and but now it’s been extinguished substationally when I found a hobby I really love to do.

Mind over Matter.. Trust me.. you can truly make your mind believe anything, you just got to train it to think another way.. and keep at it and eventually that is how you will think… CHange something in your life for the better every week and keep at it!
When you wake up every morning, say something positive in the mirror ten times.. and everytime you pass a mirror throu out the day wink at your self.. smile and say it again..
Exercise more.. It will make you more positive.. and eat healthier foods..
Make your life the way you want it.. so then you are happy.
Wouldnt you rather live your life the way you want it instead of sitting back and just thinking and dreaming of how you want it to be.. while it life passes you by…
Do more than just think! Go get it! Mind over Matter..
Your mind is a Powerful thing… THink Positive and you will become positive.

This always helps “think of the glass half full instead of half empty”

example: if someone had died that you loved just think of it as making you a stronger person, and that the person is not suffering, thats positive thinking

i do i now learn to turn the negative into a possittive like my cousin who always been negative i cant stand them but iam doing a babyshower for her because its for the baby and that possitive it negativity controls your emotion or life then youd go crazy good things happen to good people

To have a balance in our lives, i feel, its important to experience both good and bad things. But its in our hands alone to take them all in a positive way. What you need to do basically is ‘forget’ and ‘forgive’. Everday when you get up,instead of thinking what good things will happen to you,you can think abt what good things you can do in your life as well as for others.You dont have to be a saint to do that.All you have to do is listen to your conscience and do what it says is good and ignore all the bad temptations as much as possible.Also, other lil’ things like doing your work diligently(study or anything else),caring for others with a lil’ smile and a hug and if possible dont think a lot abt all the bad things that has happened to you, but think how u can change it by thinking and doing positive.And if you are not an atheist, just before going to bed, sit on you bed eyes closed and thank God(in whatever form…if you dont have one just think about a supreme white light ) for all the good things that has happened to you.Remember…Life is beautiful…but you have to work hard to make it stay that way,by your houghts and actions.

Yes, I think we all struggle with this. The only way I’ve managed to kick this bad habit is to
- tell myself “this is not healthy, this doesn’t help” in time, if you make a conscious effort to stop the negative thoughts, they will stop
- keep my mind active…reading, hobbies, sports, any healthy activity you enjoy.
- going the extra mile and involving yourself in charity. anyone can do it. You find one that tugs at your heart and volunteer in any way you can. You’ll find yourself feeling and thinking differently about others and yourself. It’s incredible!
