Your friend could go to family services and let them know what’s going on. However, they may remove her from the home until her mother gets help.

Courts usually are the ones to send or order people into anger management. They have to break the law, get caught and get prosecuted first. That’s the only way for sure. Unfortunately court required anger management has over a 90% chance the person will go back to their problem behavior again – so it doesn’t work well at all. The only chance you would have is if she sees the problem herself and WANTS to work on it. Sorry I didn’t have good news for you.

Go to your school councelor and tell them that your friend is thinking of suicide, if your friend steps up and confirms the abuse they will call in social services. Good chance she will be removed from the home, which in this case is a good thing.

You have to want to get better. You can’t make anyone do something they aren’t willing to. I would suggest your friend call CPS (Child protective Services) and tell them about this, hopefully she will have to go to court to see a judge and then be ordered to counseling. Right now your friend needs help to because anyone with thoughts of suicide needs a friend and a helpline. Maybe have your parents intervene to save your friend.
