Well a good way of taking notes is what my 7th grade teacher taught me. Cornwall notes.
You draw a line along the blue line of the piece of notebook papers and every 6 lines you draw a line horizontally. On the left side you put a topic and the right side you put main points. This helped me alot during tests. Also be sure to take 90% of what the teacher is saying as notes and 10% of listening. Keep your notes organized by labeling them and use labels. Highlight only the important topics like birth-dates and what people did or locations.
Stay organized by keeping a planner of test dates and important dates. Use folders of different subjects.
To color code, do this. use a different color notebook and folder on each class. staying organized is as simple as putting the work from each class in the folder it belongs in and writing it in the right notebook. taking good notes is easy if you pay attention, you just have to group things that are similar in the same place. and to stay on top of your school work, write EVERYTHING down in a planner and check it daily.
ok:
to stay orginized you should have a planner. in your planner you should write down all important dates such as test, quizes, and sports. writing down you sport events will help you plan your days.
in your notes… dont write down everything your teacher says word for word. write your notes in text form. my 8th grade teacher taught me that.
for example: your teacher says “the special cross was made on december 15, 1901, and there are only 5 people who can touch it.”
you should write; special +, made on dec. 15, 1901. 5 ppl touch it.
also its good to plan out your day. when people say ill do it later, time flies and in the end you have less time to finish your work and then you stress. if you have a lot of homework, then just say “ok, ill do math and la now. and in 1 hour ill do science and history.” doing this will allow you to get a break and finish your work.
The best thing is to go through and throw away old notes when you know you won’t need them again so things don’t get to crowded. Also, the way the person above me said to take notes really helps. My eighth grade teacher taught me that.
