The western slave trade was initated by the dutch
But the major slave trade involved a ‘triangle of powers’ one point being UK, the USA and West coast of Africa.
African slavery was mostly tribal warfare with the prisoners still having the same status as their peers. Also tribes could ‘exchange’ slaves. I think the Arabs then took on this idea and started trading african slaves as well. But American slaves were treated as racially inferior to white people and were considered sub-human. Interestingly, slaves were orginally treated as equals to their white owners and it wasn’t until the white population became bigger in USA that they were given a minority status. Also ‘american’ african slaves were bought or stolen from africa then sold on in USA and UK rather than traded, they were treated as a commodity – a means for profit – rather than prisoners from tribal conflicts.
African slavery was simply a way of life and involved BUGS being put in the ears of people who didn’t want to BE slaves. These bugs would eat through the persons ear drum and then start eating their brain (I’m not kidding, by the way).
Whereas in America, they didn’t use bugs AND it wasn’t seen as a “way of life” as the GOD DAMNED SOUTHERNERS (who got their SSES WHIPPED, by the way) seemed to think. All the white racist ssholes who had slaves in America are now in HELL being slaves THEMSELVES, including that sshole, Thomas fking Jefferson.
