I try and be lighthearted about things. Everyone is different, there will always be people who don’t get on however, that is no excuse for not being professional and courteous to each other. Try not to ***** – you never know when you will need a colleagues support. Don’t point the finger of blame when things go wrong – try and learn from the experience but rectify and move on.
It has taken me years to change my approach at work – with lots of tears and trantrums along the way. The work place can be a difficult place to be sometimes but remember – it is just a job. In your profession of course, the patient/service user always comes first.
Mind my business, trust no one, be nice to people even if you don’t mean it. Smile alot and go home!!
is this an eldercare facility. if so then you have to just keep thinking that they have lived good lives and are soon going to be going on to someplace better. it is hard to do these things and keep a positive attitude because you do get attached to these people. if you are working in a group home with the devlopementally disabled then you need to know that you are helping them learn. they have that capability very much. but with both places it takes a special person with patience to work in these places and it is easy to get burnt out. i have worked at both places and i did love them however i had to quit because the hours no longer worked with my children. hope this helps
Find a job you enjoy and want to do rather than one you have to do. Be happy
A positive attitude involves something we in the trade call b u l l s h i t.
It is a smile attached to idiotic optimism and we have to impress our customers that we are serious about our lunatic behaviour!
