I desperately need to get organized!!?
I have never been organized at all! I am living in clutter and I’m in a mess. I can get things organized but then, it just becomes messy again. It’s everything! from housekeeping to my car. My finances are a mess! I need help!!! or at least to be pointed in the right direction.

Hmm, sounds like my wife. I got nothin’.
Well, maybe something: I get tired of tripping over clutter and mess and it brings about a sour ambience, so if you’re seeing someone, try to do something about it. I don’t know what else to tell you other than start somewhere.
I can tell you what I did, but of course we’re different people. I did two things. The first was my neatness project. For months I made a real effort to be neat, even to the point where I was occasionally wasting time at it. I took the trash out, rolled pennies, ironed shirts, etc. That project is history, but some of the neatness actually rubbed off on me. After that I went on to another project that was slightly successful, and I’m still at it. I decided to be less judgmental and less opinionated. I’ve got opinions about everything, especially people. I haven’t made a lot of progress, but I’ll take anything I can get. There’s one other thing that wasn’t even deliberate. Someone who loves to criticize me moved in, and to avoid trouble, I started finishing things I started before I went on to doing something else, not always, but frequently. Now I usually finish what I’m doing and clean up my mess before I start anything else.
Take one step at a time. Make a list of those things which need to be organized and follow it to the last letter. Start with number one and follow it all the way through until it is all the way organized, such as getting your kitchen in order. Don’t let anything get in your way. And once it is done, let your pride in that accomplishment keep you from letting the kitchen become a mess again. After you have it all organized, keep on with the list making- what to do next to keep it organized. It will become so that you will have to do one or two things on your list daily to keep the mess sorted out.
