a 5k is only 3.1 miles, so i would spend the first few months getting yourself to the point where you can run 3.1 miles without stopping. once you can do that you should then start then start worrying about getting faster. but right now you should focus on getting your body in shape to run 3.1 miles, the most important thing is being able to finish it, not your time. good luck!!

Run a quarter of the k, for the first day
Run a half a k for the second day
A k for the third day
A k and a half for the fourth
Two ks for the fifth
And so forth..
. You might have to get used to it in the beginning and have to start slowly building your strength at first. And then eventually when you’re kinda sure you can start in K’s, and then push yourself to two and a half K’s and then aaaaaalll the way! That should stretch out nicely over a 6 month period!
Hope that helps, good luck xxxx

you should drink alot of water at school to help make your metabolism stronger
don’t eat a lot of junk food because it makes you lazy
don’t go on a maniac diet.. eat a lot of fruit
green tea keeps you energized so once your done working out.. you will still have enough energy to walk..
“divide you weight in half and that is how many ounces of water you should drink!! “

that all depends on what you would get on your other long distance running(like the mile). just multiply your mile time by 3 and your time should be a not to far above that.
my mile was around 7 minutes for example, and my lowest 5k time was 24 minutes.

its not that hard, really. it only takes15 minutes to jog/run
anyone could do it, but try breathing excercises, because its the last 2 kilometers that will get you exhausted. first start slow, or you will faint at the end, trust me.

I think that 6 months are more than sufficient.
You have just to train hard and not to give up and I promise you that you will, perhaps, win the marathon.

Start by walking a little bit each day, then start walking further and further each day…those are the first steps and that will build up your cardio…then try walking 5k a day for a week or so…then try jogging that distance….
