I Have A Problem Completing Set Goals. Ne Thing I Can Do To Break Through The Barrier That Keeps A From B ?
Like I said I have a problem sticking to goals that I have. Getting out of high school, getting a GED, driving, and helping with house payments are goals that I severly need to accomplish but still sit here, untouched. These things are what I see as my “brick wall.” Anything I should keep in mind or do on a regular basis to get somewhere?

This may sound like advice taken from a school Homeroom Guidance Program but still, I would like to share it with you. First of all, you have to know how to properly construct a good set of goals. Remember that a goal can only be attained or completed only if it is
S – Self-embedded
M – Measurable
A – Attainable
R – Reality-Oriented
T – Time-bound
So remember that: SMART.
A goal that can be reached if it is Self-embedded because it is something you commit yourself to. You don’t just say, “Hey, I want to graduate with honors!” or something like that; you DO something. It is good to know what your goal is, but it is better if you commit to it and START DOING SOMETHING to attain it.
Secondly, you can break through your “barriers” or obstacles by setting your goal as something Measurable and Time-bound. Setting a goal with a specific length of time or a schedule can help you organize and plan on what you will do. Being organized will help prevent you going astray from your path to the ultimate goal.
Last of all, make sure that such goals of yours are Attainable and Reality-oriented. These two factors are definitely something to consider in goal-setting. Make sure that your goal is something that can be achieved and reached in reality because it is absurd for one to aim for something that is obviously impossible. Goals such as wanting to be a doctor, becoming a well-reputed politician may be attainable; however, a goal such as wanting to rule the universe perhaps is something already out of reality.
Know your limits – your strengths and weaknesses. Use your strengths to your advantages and learn to correct your weaknesses. Remember, in achieving goals, learn to trust and believe in yourself, but take it into mind that you must never step on anyone else in your path to self-fulfillment.
Good luck to you!
Hello friend,
What i feel is that you need only to cheer up,
First of all think that OK I have a task – accept it
second try to break up this into smaller tasks – analyse it
third start to complete the series of task one by one -solve it
fourth give your self a pat on the back as you complete – encourage your self
BEST OF all you are not the only one in this world who has a problem.
Best of luck
Goals are all very well and good, but you need to make sure that the goals are right for you. If you really want to achieve the goal, it has to be something that naturally motivates you. We all set outselves these ‘must do’ goals, but sometimes they are not right for us or even we may have set too many goals, or may not be a position to achieve them.
So, my message is; make goals achievable, only have a few at a time and make sure you have the resources to be able to achieve them.
