Takes a lot of work:
A few things that you can do – make a to do list and make sure that you “force” yourself to get them all done – be reasonable when making the list – remove distractions
if you have house work yo do then keep the TV and radio and PC off – if your doing home work same rules apply.
Have someone keep you motivated.
its a long road but it can be done – I was on that road at one time.

Procrastination is the thief of time. An old saying but a very true one. The only way to defeat it is by time management. Set out whatever tasks you have to due during the day and work out how long each will take. Allocate specific times to each task and have a daily jotter so that you can tick off each task as you complete it. Decide categorisations for your tasks into ‘Those which MUST be done’, ‘Those which SHOULD be done’ and ‘Those which COULD be done’. Make sure the MUST ones are done within your timetable then tackle the others. When you reach the COULD tasks then you are in front and by doing them will save time tomorrow. Remember that tasks which COULD be done, as time passes will turn into those which MUST be done. Teach yourself self-motivation by repeating to yourself ‘I MUST DO THAT NOW/TODAY/THIS EVENING. or whenever. Start to look on work as enjoyable, after all you chose that particular job. If you don’t like it get another one. Set yourself targets such as completing a certain number of tasks in a set time. When you do it reward yourself with a chocolate bar or biscuit, something tangible to look forward to. Remember the X and Y theory of work. Theory X says that people enjoy working and do it to occupy their minds and achieve fulfillment. Theory Y says that people are inherently lazy and work only because they are forced to so that they can earn money. Make sure that you’re in the first category.

Finally if you have something to do today and can’t be bothered, then get up of your lazy backside and get it done!
