If Christians Are So Deliriously Happy, How Come They Are So Interested In Other Peoples Lives?
Why waste your energy demonizing homosexuals and abortion? If you believe in heaven, how can you be happy here on earth, a mere pit stop to a much better existence? And, if Christianity leads to a happy and moral life, how can you continue to be happy knowing that friends and family are going to suffer for eternity? How can you take pleasure in this life, worried about sinning and displeasing the Lord?

don’t disturb the peasants ways, religion gives them purpose and a happy life is a purpose driven life.
The Bible commands us to tell the world and preach the gospel to everyone. We are all sinners, homosexuality is a sin, abortion is murder. Christianity does not lead to a happy and moral life on earth. God never promised that this life would be happy and wonderful, but He doesn’t want us to take our own lives either. How can I be happy knowing friends will suffer for eternity, I can’t that’s why I tell people about Christ. My mother finally accepted Christ as her savior and then she died about a year later, in her sleep. We can take pleasure in this life, because God gave us this life and my kids, everything I have. I don’t worry about displeasing Him because the Bible says that all of our good works are like filthy rags. There is none righteous not one. It’s only by Gods Grace that we are saved, not of our own works. It is a gift from God. You can take it or leave it.
Does that mean as a child, you were not happy at all because you had to listen to your parents?
No one said that being a Christian will automatically bring happiness. It takes work. You ask why we demonize abortion. Since we DO believe in God, and that He created life, why would we want others to take it away?
Have you really tried to understand the teachings of Christianity? You are right though, when you say that this is just a “pit stop”. We can be happy here in this life as much as we can, just like anyone else, theist or not.
It’s exactly because we are not happy “knowing that friend’s and family are going to suffer for eternity” that we “waste energy demonizing homosexuals and abortion”. We try our hardest to save as many souls here on earth for as long as we are here. If that means stamping on the evil of abortion, homosexuality, divorce ect. then that’s what we’ll do. There was a time when all three of those evils did not exist because the known world was nearly all Catholic. Those times have passed, but they will return if all of us Christians pull together in our communities and in every other place we can. Even if that means answering silly questions on Yahoo! No Christian ever claimed to be deliriously happy, just at peace with themselves and not confused and disorientated about life as others are.
In all arguments I have had with christianity it ends in them saying that they are right because god is real. Its a religion based upon control of ideas and of letting go and allowing a bigger entity(their idea in the form of a god) make better decisions for them. By doing this they can kill, destroy and poison things that were once beautiful without ever feeling guilt, for what they did was religiously right because it was in the name of their lord.
I can’t answer you for the other Cristians but only for the ORTHODOX:I am happy because I can do anything I want without to heart other people, the ORTHODOX priests can get maried,if I die(in many years)I will have good time in heaven or in hell, because the ORTHODOX believe that ‘hell’ is the situation with no God,it seems to us very stranger who the others Cristians believe that when they will die they will suffer, the heaven or the hell have started already, every man can choose…….
‘If Christians are so deliriously happy, how come they are so interested in other peoples lives?’
So, one now has to be sad to be interested in another individuals welfare, that’s atheist logic for you.
Try again.
Of course they’re not happy. They will never be happy until ‘god’ finally takes them into his bosom. They only live their lives according to the commands of ‘god’. They don’t live for themselves. How is anyone suppose to be truly happy with such an abstinent existence
I’ve got my own life to worry about. I am not interested in, nor do I care what everyone else is doing. Stop generalizing all Christians as busy bodies that interferes with peoples lives, we all don’t do it.
Maybe it is because we love mankind and want to see EVERYONE share in the joy of our Lord, Jesus. I always thought I was happy. Now that I am a Christian, I truly know what happiness is! So, shoot me if you think I shouldn’t want to see you as happy!
I think you answered your own question when you said “How can Christians be happy knowing friends and family are going to suffer for eternity”. They’re not happy about it. That’s why they’re interested in other peoples lives.
Don’t confuse joy with happiness. Happiness is transient.
I sense a hypocritical spirit. You want us to be quiet but complain about not finding out the Truth. Now is the day of salvation. Deal with it.
Not me I am not like this in any way form or shape as a Christian, what others do with their lives is really none of my personal business at all and some Christians they get so judgmental and act like they control the whole world
Because the Christian life is intellectually stagnant; which can make things very boring…
I think it’s because they’re doing things they shouldn’t be (according to their religion). Focusing on other people takes their mind of their own “sins”
Voyeurism?
It’s no business of mine who someone else wants to put it in. I take care of myself and mine.
Some still want to blow their loads apparently
you mean we shouldn’t stand up for what we believe in and be carpets for you to trample on…no thank you…
We have been commanded to love our neighbor as much as we love ourselves. We seek out the best for all people. This means that when the world forgets what is right and what is wrong, out of love and concern, we have to speak up.
The Church is primarily a spiritual body but she is also a moral teacher.
If people are going to make moral issues into political ones then they should not complain when the Church uses her freedoms of speech and religion.
The Church looks to protect human dignity and human rights and does not for look for political power. Church leaders are barred from political office by Church law, not civil law (Canon 285.3).
Jesus said, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
The Catholic Church has been teaching world governments what she believes God has revealed is right and wrong since the ancient Romans stopped persecuting her and long before anyone heard of the freedom of speech.
The Catholic Church protested about the blood sports in the Roman Colosseum and they were stopped.
The Catholic Church supported the Polish Solidarity movement and the Soviet Union fell apart.
I don’t think the Church is going to (or should) stop teaching the world governments what is right or wrong now.
Remember the Catholic Church proposes. She does not impose.
With love in Christ.
