In Th Movie “anger Management”..how Often Real Is The Situaion Where People Were Laying On Floor In Anger?
the scene where Jack Nicholson asks Adam Sandler “Who are you?” and there are other people on the floor hugging a pillow and beating the floor in anger, etc.
is this a very often scene in therapy for people?
people who have built up anger from their childhood, etc?
are they returned back to a more child like frame of thinking?
please explain why and how this is helping these people?
and again how frequent is this type of scenario?
Thanks for your answers!

It is a movie and not real. That is the only explanation you can get regarding this weird theraputic behavior.
It sounds as if the behavior exhibited in that film were more in line with frustration more than anger.
It’s quite easy to get frustrated when you have an anger problem – the anger itself is what makes the individual frustrated, due to not wanting to be angry.
it can be very often for some people going through depression.
I `ve already found myself rolling on the floor in anger quite a few times. In this case I`d be so angry ,I`d feel like being in a kind of trance or something. There`s no way to calm me down from an exterior point of view, and I`d be able to do absolutely anything in this circumstance.Anything.Life threatening stuffs included, before being completely exhausted from smashing things and shouting my heart out,and just collapse again, sobbing with a teddy bear in my arm.I`ve been abused for quite a long time during my childhood and been advised anger management. But this just make me laugh. My anger doesn`t need to be “managed”,there is some much of it,it just has to be released.
However despite quite some time spent with psychiatrists,I never been aware of this kind of therapy……..But some psychotic patients are known to display a great deal of agressivity before returning to a foetal position.Quite a moving picture when done by an adult…
