No.

Not only is union membership very low (12.4%) a very large number of those union members are government employees and so have no effect on outsourcing production to other countries. Even among the private sector union employees, most are in service jobs not manufacturing.

As for ridiculous demands, union members had
median usual weekly earnings of $886. That corresponds to about $46K a year, which is still under the median household income in the U.S.
