Is It Possible To Be A Feminist Without Having An Anger Management Issue?

10

Yes, My wife is a feminist and I hardly ever have seen her angry, it is just not in her nature.
There is no way to put people in boxes based upon their beliefs or causes.
That is tantamount to saying all Muslims are terrorists when the truth is less than 1% are, or all Christians are fundamentalists who try to impose their beliefs on people, when only about 10-15% behave that way. They are just vocal and have more voice than they should.
Some feninists are angry and some are not some people who aren’t feminists are angry too.
I’m a minister and a Christian, but I also support gay rights, am pro-choice and have positions on many issues that are contrary to the vocal minority Christian view.
We can’t put people in boxes. We get really convoluted ideas about them and the world in general when we do.

I am in general a happy go lucky person, and an ardent feminist.
Don’t group everybody into a worn out stereotype.

My goodness – either you’re old enough to know better, or you’re too young to know better. Which is it, hon?
If you’re going to live your life according to stereotypes, at least pick some good ones.

Yes.
feminism -
1. the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.
2. (sometimes initial capital letter) an organized movement for the attainment of such rights for women.
It’s about equality. Anyone who goes beyond that & becomes a ‘man-hater’ is obviously not for equality, and therefore i.m.o., not truly a feminist.

As long as it is about equality and not superiority. You have to understand that every injustice that a woman experiences is not “just because she is a woman.” Life sucks for everyone sometimes.

Yes, I’m an unlikely feminist I guess becasue I am a stay at home mom, but that is because I choose that. I’m a quite happy woman and seldom lose my temper about feminist issues or much for that matter.
I admit this president does get my dander up though, he is so anti-family and pro-war.
Well, I digress, but:
Equality for people is a reasonable issue whether they be women, men, people of color or anyone else.

Feminists are certainly angry to a point, but you don’t see many of them going on shooting sprees or threatening to leap off bridges. Everyone needs something to get angry about.

lol!! i would ask that same question about *ANTI* feminists & misogynists…
they’re the ones always boiling over with hatred & bilious words.

Ember Halo @ 12:12 pm #

Part of being a feminist is being angry. That’s their whole deal.

Vwgirl18 @ 4:42 pm #

It’s not like there has ever been a Ghandi or a Martin Luther King of feminism.

Rio Madeira @ 9:15 pm #

No.
