Depends on your perception. The almighty question, what is the meaning of life? Everyone wants to know. Ultimately, your journey is created by your actions, your actions created by your thoughts, etc.
Our society demands an understanding of what it means to be successful and presents to us at an early age, a false picture containing “truths of life” or reality. Life is what you make it. I see it as a gigantic classroom. An equal giving and sharing of knowledge. Somelessons are extremely difficult, some not so hard, and some so easy, we sometimes fail to see the importance. Setting goals and achieving them is merely planting flowers along the path you take. Don’t stop at the little white house, picket fence, etc.

It is mainly that. You can try do to things randomly,as you go,without any specific purpose but it would still be kind of a goal – the goal to do things randomly. All we do it based upon some reason, that’s why we call it goal: because we had the intention to achieve it or do it. For as long as you lead a life based upon intentional actions,it’s a life made of goals.

Yes and yet an incredible no at the same time. Yes Because that ultimately what your doing every second of every day. your goals may be considered just to think about something or think about nothing. talk about something or go somewhere. simple things like that. and as you complete those actions you are achieving short term goals. OR maybe falling in love or just drinking water.. starting a business, eating healthy.. the list of possible goals is near endless.
But no because
its almost the same as asking,
Is the plan to go with no plan?
Or is the no plan to go with a plan?
And i have to say no BEcause WE are making it up as we go along.
Because we can only predict the future, and are forced to live with the moment. So the plan would to be prepared, and the no plan would to be resourceful.
but to the asnwer to your question, specifically asked the way you askked it, Is Life JUST ALL about setting goals and acheiving them? NO. NOT JUST ALL, but alot of it. Not ALL, but most of it…..

As some fables like to say, man was born with a hole in his heart. As human beings, we are never 100% content – we continue searching, we continue making goals. Some of the goals we strive for are great, some of them are small. Someone earlier mentioned spending a day without setting goals… well guess what – your goal was to relax. The reality is goals and decisions are things we make even when we don’t make them, so to speak.
That said, I would say that no, life is not just about setting and achieving goals. It’s about what happens along the way. Logically enough, I set the goal to have a roof over my head or food in my fridge. That led me to need money, which led me to work. Had I not done these things, I might not have the work ethic or some of the friends I have today. Sometimes bigger things happen. It’s extremely unlikely, but for argument’s sake, let’s just say you had never heard of God. In setting the goal to answer your question, and posting your question on Answers to do so, you have read several accounts of people’s belief in God. Now let’s say that you thought ‘who’s this God fellow?’, looked it up, and became a devout Christian. Ta-da! Life changing experience indirectly resulting from a goal. Now *that’s* what I think life is about (the concept, not Christianity – I’m agnostic). That, and of course the lessons you learn in achieving (or failing to achieve) your goals.

Probably. Of course, to accept this, you would have to accept that there is a higher being, a god.
We don’t know why we are here, but if, during our lives, we set ourselves goals and aspire to achieve them, then possibly we made the best possible use of our life.

ok, i will have to explain many things to answer this question, but i will try to summarize so people here will not sleep on their keyboards. Life is about one thing, and that is happiness. you do things or want things that make you happy. thats easy, but the hard part is, what makes you happy? sex? eating? talking? Gucci Bag? Porsche turbo? big house? great friends? these things give u temporary happiness, which is why u still seek more even if u have everything. so back to the question, what will make us truly happy? and the answer is God. God is happiness and joining him we will be truly happy, now it is ur job to do things in this life so you can meet God. that is what life is about. that should be your goal, it is up to you how you will achieve it

Ask Me Anything! @ 10:21 pm #

No, sometimes I don’t give a rat’s posterior if nothing gets accomplished that day–to hell with what they want and to hell with what I thought I wanted, I’m going to waste these precious hours cause I can.
Feel me, bb?

where's my glasses? @ 3:31 am #

Yep just as long as you are good at kicking footballs. Ho wrong question one must have faith and spirit in oneself to achieve anything. But try it kicking the football in the dark at the goal posts.

Life is to live by your gut feelings. Goal-setting etc is one option the society offers you. Many live well without making goals.

…”life”is abt u living 2 manifest your_SELF!~YOUR_TOTALITY! erosisyou&me!

mysticsi @ 4:43 pm #

If that is what is important for you now, then follow through. We can only get to the next step by doing what we feel we need to do.

Ross @ 8:39 pm #

no. life is about having the experience of being in this body at this time and and trying to benefit God and those around you.

Yes, even if it is something selfish like aiming for a long and happy life.

Life is what happens while you are making plans
