Is There A Disconnect, Do You Think, Between Feminism: As An Organized Movement, And Individual Feminists?
From my experiences on this group, there seems to be a lot of women who truly believe in equality. Yet, this is the opposite feeling I get from groups like NOW, and Radical Women, and other women’s groups.

Comments on Is There A Disconnect, Do You Think, Between Feminism: As An Organized Movement, And Individual Feminists?
I think there are vast differences between feminist movements and feminist individuals. I, for example, do not like NOW in any way, shape, or form. For the few times I checked out the site I was very disappointed in the context, views, and expression. I haven’t heard of Radical Women so I can’t speak about that. I do like iFeminist.com and as a feminist, stand for equality, never gender superiority. For the most part, like any political movement, most individuals have their own individual views. Just because one is a Republican doesn’t mean they agree completely with the Republican party or a Republican leader. The GOP and the individual Republican will often be very different just as an individual feminist can and will be very different from NOW.
You are suggesting that all women are cookie-cutter cutouts. They are not homogeneous.
Women, who constitute 51% of the human population, are individuals and each woman perceives the world differently.
Q: Is there a disconnect, do you think, between protestantism: as an organized movement, and individual protestants?
A: Yes of course. Protestants do not constitute a single homogeneous group.
Q: Is there a disconnect, do you think, between pescatarianism: as an organized movement, and individual pescatarians?
A: Yes of course. Pescatarians do not constitute a single homogeneous group.
etc.
There are good feminists, but rarely do they ever do things publicly.
It would be safe to assume that public feminists who shout too much and try to support sexism, are radicals. Radical itself means something like a person who takes the movement forward.
Yes, you will find radicals in any group, religion, etc… I consider myself a feminist and I work in an environment filled with feminists. Some think I’m crazy because I shave my legs, some think that being a feminist means you should be a “man hater” and they get weird when I talk about the fun times my boyfriend and I have together. But then there are many who just believe in equality, that man never have been nor ever will be better than woman. so no matter where yeah go, every group will have those radical people who give others bad names. For example look at those crazy fundamentalist latter-day saint from texas and southern utah. I know some “latter day saints” that are perfectly nice and don’t believe in polygamy, yet that radical guy gave them a bad name. You just need to remember that most females and males are feminists, and I’m glad that you do see a difference between the two. So yes there is a disconnect, both as a movement such as NOW that is having problems because no one will agree, and as I stated before on personal levels. Good question
to the second part of your question Its to blind the stupid to their their way of thinking. If you say equality and post a bunch of false info most people go that’s terrible and I should help them without doing any research on the subject like barometer on your last question.Feminist talk about equality while they try and take ours away form us. India feminist have taken away free speech by claiming its domestic violence to argue with your wife. The UK trying to get affirmative action for women in the work place and only women. The U.S.A the ability to take half your money and your kids because the marriage didn’t work out. And in one European country they wanted a man tax. Just taxes on men. While most are not that crazy it seems the ones in power are and they supporting them intentionally by thinking their movement is harmless.
Yes. I am a feminist and I support men’s rights. Rarely do I find public feminist movements that reflect my views.
This is true for all movements. Haven’t you heard of Leon Trotsky?
