If you could improve something about yourself – looks, health, fitness, attitude, values – anything… what would it be?

I was reading an article recently about the est founder and first training guru, Werner Erhard. I knew several people personally back in the 1970′s that took the weekend seminars in LA at the closed Ambassador Hotel ballroom.
The people I talked to were all turned on to the training and trying to convince me to sign up. Although curious, I never did, but many baby boomers, thousands actually went through the training.
Now if you had a personal experience with est, how has it affected your life path now? Werner’s goal for his subjects going through the training was to “get it” Did you in fact “get it” and have your still “got it?”
60 Minutes did a feature and interview with Erhard, and he apparently has disappeared out of the mainstream. Is he even alive somewhere, out of the US? Donahue had a few shows featuring him and many celebs such as late John Denver and others took the training and discussed the impact it had on their lives.
Anyone care to comment about est?

This is a hard thing to ask because if I give as much detail as I can, this question would go on for pages. I’m basically getting at how I can get rid of my insecurities as a teacher. I went to school for teaching and graduated recently. I am having trouble finding a job as a teacher (I know this is mostly due to the economy and my lack of experience), but people are still being hired as teachers. I’ve sent out dozens of resumes and cover letters (that have been proofread numerous times by myself and others) and have yet to get any interviews.
This is starting to make me feel like I am not prepared enough to be a teacher and am losing confidence in myself and my abilities (not just as a teacher, but in myself in general). I’ve never had a problem getting a job, but they’re not in education and not anywhere close to what I want to do.
How can I regain my self-confidence, even if I am unable to find a teaching job soon?
I am looking for elementary teaching jobs. I did just move to a new state 6 months ago, with my fiance (he started grad. school here) and because the job market was so abundant. However, once I got here everyone stopped hiring.

I am 26 and going through this “phase” right now where I don’t really look at myself and say”God, Im great” and I really want to feel like that. There’s things I want to fix about myself so I can truly feel like I am being the best person I can be and living the best life I can. But I want some guidance and am looking for some book title. Im not depressed nor do I have a low self esteem…just looking to do some soul searching I guess. Maybe journaling books…anything…
Im looking for non-religious type books…although Im not totally opposed if the books really good…

I’m feeling a little down about life right now. I will graduate from college next month with a BA in criminology only to find out all agencies ( by agencies I mean FDLE, DCF, DOC etc,) in my state (Fla) are laying people off because of lack of funding. Teachers are getting laid off, its just horrible. yet the state seems to have enough money to advertise the different lottery games they want people to spend their last dollar playing (figures). It turns out i will have to continue to work at my part time low paying convenience store job until the agencies begin hiring again. Anyhow, I’m looking for a good self-help/improvement book with tips on how to deal with hard times in life, not worrying, etc. Thanks in advance.

I am by no means a bad person, I think really I’m more a diamond in the rough. I have an awesome perspective of the world, and I’m very optimistic, but I find myself having a hard time being consistant. What steps can I take to help me gain more self control? Husband is in Afghanistan for eight months so I think this would be a great time to work on my flaws!!
