Should Pronger Be Required To Take Anger Management Courses?

8 SUSPENSIONS NOW… the same amount as Simon.
I’m not a fan of Simon, just addressing an obvious double-standard.

I cant believe that he only got 8 games. Obviously a huge double standard when it comes to star players.Anger management and a suspension along the lines of Simons (the crime was essentially the same, the bad behavior record is close also). This is his 8th suspension and so far not one of his suspensions have equaled the crime. He got one game in the Cup finals last year? What a joke! That was after an incredibly dirty play earlier in the playoffs against the Wings where he got an equally pathetic penalty (and he wasnt even called on the dirty hit). What would motivate him to stop the dirty stuff? he has little fear of any reasonable suspensions handed out, if he would have gotten even a 12 gamer this time that would run well into the 1st round of the playoffs where it would hurt the Ducks. Until then nobody will hold him accountable…the league has already proved they dont, and the Ducks have no incentive to hold him accountable either. I laugh when i hear some of the analists talk like he should be considered for the Norris every year….he should win the Claude Lemieux Dirtiest Player Award. Completely gutless, he has the size to handle things with toughness and hard play but I guess his balls arent as big as the rest of him. Coward!

I don’t think he needs anger management, considering Pronger’s suspensions totalled 22 games, and Simon’s were 69 games. Simon’s have been more violent with intent to harm, whereas Pronger’s have just been cheapshots fueled by his desire to win. I’m not saying Pronger should get away with anything, I just think Simon’s actions have been fueled more by anger than Pronger’s.

I think any player who is suspended for actions intending to injure a player should be required to attend anger management courses.

yes

He should have just shot the puck at Kesler instead of stepping on him… not only would he have a better chance of killing him, he wouldn’t have been suspended.
I think the punishment is fitting. Kesler aggitated the situation by scissor locking Pronger, and Big Chris reacted with poor judgement.

Maybe he should be tested for roids.I guess if he is hurting the team enough and smacking his wife or girlfriends around the owner should tell him to get counsel or get rid of him.

It could not hurt. The man obviously has some sort of problem, treat it like a repeat offender in a crime. What is the difference? not much!
Maybe this should be treated and punished like “Impaired Driving” is. The more you commit, the more you suffer and lose your privilege to play

No, but Ray Emery should take anger management classes.

Pronger made a mistake and is being targeted for no good reason, he shouldnot have even been suspended.
