Should Serena Williams Be Suspended Until She Successfully Completes An Intensive Anger Management Program?
Do you feel for the protection of all that someone with the apparent anger management problems, that this individual has already displayed, should be required to seek the help they so desperately require before being allowed to proceed?

Absolutely they should go to anger management.I think this violence has to stop.I think Serena, should have been suspended from playing tennis for a year. She has been in this business for a long time and she knew the ups and downs, but when it gets to the point that you threaten someone life and say obscene things, and refuse to apologize, it’s time you learn the right way. It doesn’t matter how important you think you are.
Not so sure about anger management but any other league would and has suspended players for verbally assaulting officials and tennis shouldn’t be any different. I would strip her of any prize money from the US Open, any points earned at the US Open, and at least make her miss everything up to and including Australia next year.
Federer swore at an umpire. Serena threatened an umpire. There is a HUGE difference. A friend of mine is an umpire. I don’t know exactly what the title of his qualification is, but he is qualified (and has) done all lines at Master’s Series 1000 events and he does chair/roaming umpire for various university and junior national tournaments in Canada. According to him, the difference between something like “What the ****!” and “Go **** yourself” is night and day. The first one probably gets overlooked (Federer), the second one could result in a default at worst and a warning at best (Serena). You can’t compare what Roger did to what Serena did. She told the woman that she would shove the ball down her ******* throat. Those are grounds for a default and in any other sport in America would result in a huge fine and/or a suspension. NFL, NHL, MLB all have examples of players who have been fined and suspended for abusing officials. Tennis should not be ANY different.
No I’m sorry suspension for just a verbal outburst is way too harsh. How come nobody is giving Federer a hard time like they are Serena, he cursed the umpire also during his match and nobody makes a big deal about it, it’s unfair. Sometimes I almost feel like they are holding it against her because she’s a woman and a famous one at that. Serena doesn’t have any anger problems, when she’s not playing well, Serena’s emotions show and it’s one of the reasons why she’s such an amazing player to watch. I honestly think that if anybody had been in her position they would’ve have felt and likely reacted the very same way. I could see them fining her, but suspension is just over the top and unnecessary. Serena is only human and sometimes as human beings we let our feelings out in the open for everybody to see and it’s just human nature, you can’t hold her at fault. I’m not saying what she did was right, but if I was in her position I would have felt the same way and probably done the exact same thing. That call was ridiculous and then the linesperson lied about Serena threatening to kill her, if somebody lied on me and call me on a footfault when I’m trying to get my 12th grandslam I would’ve been upset too. Serena already showed her maturity and apologized and admitted her mistake, people just about the whole thing and move the heck on.
Uhmmmm NO absolutely NOT! I’m sorry but I’m gonna hafta disagree with you big time. EVERYONE makes mistakes, Federer even cussed out the official and he didn’t get bashed for it. It’s truly unfair how hard of a time people are giving Serena. Sure it was wrong to say all those things to the line judge person lady but it was a mistake and she apologized. So why can’t people just forgive her and move on?
i think she should pay a fine but supension come on no way everyone has there bad days i pretty shore u yelled at someone using those kinds of words. its just because she’s famous she’s supposed to be perfect. im not saying what she did was right but giv her a break
they are doing a full investigation right now. If she is guilty, she would be fined $250,000 and banned from the slams starting with the Aussie Open (i think i heard that, i was half-paying attention).
Censorious tennis fans. Serena already have made a public apology and agreed to pay the fine. Enough said and done, IMO.
