I have a misdemeanor charge against me and I’m doing everything that the court ordered me to. I’m currently attending anger management I’m about half-way done, but I’m worried that my due date will arrive just before I finish up my 6 months? Can’t I request an extension and will the judge have mercy seeing that I am attending and trying or will he just say oh well you didn’t finish in time and lock me up?
Thanks Christi!

Hi, I am a creative (typical Aries) person who tends to come up with a lot of ideas and start a lot of projects (mainly writing projects), but then I get bored and move on to the next project before I’ve finished the previous one. The only way I have ever finished anything was when a grade or deadline someone else set was involved, but I can’t be in school for the rest of my life. I’ve thought about writing a plan, but I’m so lazy I don’t think I’d ever start it much less finish it. What I’d like you to tell me is how you developed discipline/focus or overcome distractions/laziness and met your goals. Good and detailed ideas only-none of that “just do it!” crap or any other cliches. Thanks!

I set goals and begin with very high energy and excitement. I focus on one thing with most of my energy. The activity takes up a lot of time, and I put off doing other things (studying and focusing at work). After about 4-6 weeks I suddenly lose interest in that activity. I feel demoralized, my energy level drops and get very depressed. What is going on? Is this a mental disorder? I’ve had this problem for most of my adult life.

Classes are getting harder, and I’ve already completed around 60 credit hours at the end of this semester. I’m supposed to be applying to my major’s course program this fall, but I’m just lacking motivation, feeling kinda burnt out, especially knowing that I still have about 2 1/2 years to go. How do I stay motivated?

I Am On A Quest For Self-improvement. How Can I Help Myself In Academics, So I Can Finish My Degree?
I am currently on a campaign for self-improvement. A lot of aspects are involved. One aspect I am working on is improving my academic self. I currently work about 50 hours a week, and I am not sure if I will be able to cut down on hours. Currently, I am employed as a para-professional, with a promise of promotion to professional status once I receive a related bachelor’s degree.
I graduated with a BS in biological sciences and I am wanting to expand upon that in the future.
Currently, I am focusing on finishing engineering. The problem is my work schedule and how it doesn’t fit into the regional engineering school’s marketing plan. I am a non-traditional student. They want overacheivers, and are trying to accomplish this by having those who are driven to succeed “influence” the others. For example, many engineering students live together, separate from the rest of the university. This is now expected and required. Is there any chance I can pursue distance education for BS?

. I read some where that writing down goals in the present tense works best.
- I wake up every morning at 7:00 AM to finish an hour of P90X
- I stick to my diet
- I am 8% body fat
Is this written out the right way for goal setting?
