I’m a college student about to start the hospital portion of my nursing school. Classes start the second week in May. My goal is to have the room I rent totally clean and organized by that time. The difficult part is not so much cleaning up – I am not a pack rat and have little trouble tossing things. The hard part for me is keeping it clean during the week with my schedule (not just clutter clean, but also actual washing/scrubbing clean). Your tips are greatly appreciated!

I’m going to be a sophomore, I get good grades (A’s and B’s), but I tend to procrastinate and end up doing my homework at the last minute. Last year I wasn’t as organized as I’d like to have been, and I sometimes got stressed. This year I’m also planning on joining winter and spring track. Any tips on how to be more organized, stop procrastinating and being lazy, getting work done, and making room for some free time and lessening stress? I’d like to get straight A’s all year and still be able to balance track and other activities. How could I do that best?

There are a number of goals I’d like to work towards (e.g. getting married, buying a house, settling down). But I get really discouraged sometimes. For example, I feel like at my age I already “should” have property and be more settled. Then I start comparing myself to others who are where I want to be and I start feeling depressed and anxious.
How do you work towards your goals without letting yourself get discouraged in the face of obstacles and past disappointments?
