What I suspect is that the lack of care and affection that he went through during his terrible childhood stimulates his creativity and foster his will to search for an ultimate truth in natural philosophy.

So if he had a normal childhood, full of care, love and a happy and complete family, would he still achieve that much?

Thanks in advance.

I have diabetes, chronic fatigue, Sjogren’s Syndrome, and Celiac Disease….whew!….
I went through college and got my engineering degree and after that I have just been so sick that when I get work I just can’t keep up with it I have tried going back to school and getting a Master several times and I can’t keep up with that either.
The whole experience has been extremely disappointing and frustrating and I feel I have turned into this grumpy old lady (I’m 28) who just complains about how sick she is. The worst part is that I don’t really think I am that type of person. I used to be a very positive and vibrant person.
Now I have decided to try and regroup. So moved in with my parents and to take really good care of myself for a whole year so I can try to move on with my life once I have better health.
How can be more positive in this situation?

Hello. =]
In the book Great Expectations, what is Charles Dickens trying to say about ambition and self-improvement? Don’t worry – you don’t have to write a whole essay (that’s my job =P); just a line or two about others’ thoughts on this. I have a lot of ideas about what to say about ambition and self-improvement as a whole theme in the book, but nothing about what Dickens’ message is – that it’s good? That it’s bad? That it won’t get you anywhere? What’s the message here?
Also, please don’t link to any websites like SparkNotes and say “I hope these help you” – trust me, they won’t. =]
Thanks. =]

Yes Naveen you are right. The true Guru says:
??? ?????? ???? ?? ??? ??? ?????? ?
He Himself created and adorned the Universe, and He Himself contemplates it.

Some are counterfeit, and some are genuine. He Himself is the Appraiser.

The genuine are placed in His Treasury, while the counterfeit are thrown away.

The counterfeit are thrown out of the True Court-unto whom should they complain?
?????? ???? ??? ???? ??? ???? ???? ?
They should worship and follow the True Guru-this is the lifestyle of excellence.

The True Guru converts the counterfeit into genuine; through the Word of the Shabad, He embellishes and exalts us.

Those who have enshrined love and affection for the Guru, are honored in the True Court.
