I had a dream that I was given a store that sold fish for aquariums. When I went to start working the store was a mess. Staff was not organized, fish were breeding faster than I could get tanks set up to care for them. The fish were so hungry that they were eating each other and I when I went to feed them they would jump out of the water to bite my fingers. I was feeling frustrated that I couldn’t clean all the tanks fast enough and that cross breeding had started that overflowed my tanks with highly unusual and aggressive fish. In the end all I wanted to do was leave and become a journalist who wrote a book. I wound up walking home in a thunderstorm.

It is the old “the glass is half full”. Accept life’s events as they come without breaking down or getting freaked out – as much as is humanly possible. Find the silver lining in every cloud. There are no problems there are just opportunities to be creative and resourceful. See the best in people even when they are at their worst. Always have something uplifting to say to people. Encourage rather than criticize. If criticism is appropriate begin it with “I appreciate what you are trying to do but perhaps if you tried it this way it would work out better, What do you think?”

Personally I would argue that a positive attitude to life means that you believe that when things go well it is at least in part because of things you did (so that you can make it more likely good things will happen in the future) and that when something bad happens there are almost things you can do to limit the damage.
That way you continue to work to make the world a better place for yourself and other people and you are not afraid to make mistakes because you know you’ll learn from them and be able to get back on track.
