I have been struggling for a long time. I was in denial about it, but I can’t run from it. I feel like I can’t escape other peoples pain and saddness unless I try to help them. It’s so weird, almost like being in their shoes, literally. SO i am never happy cause there are so many sad people out there. How do I escape?

If you are a person who have always struggled in life but was always happy and managed to help others inspite of it all – and someone tells you…
” People cannot be truly happy if they are not of true service to others and if they are not meeting their fundamental needs.” What does that person mean?
If a person has most of his fundamental needs unmet. Does he need to meet those basic needs before he can go to a higher plane of functioning?

I’m a big believer in when people are generally nasty to others and over cocky, putting other people down, that they are doing it to feel better about themselves. I believe a happy person with a good self esteem will always treat others with respect and love.

For example, I’ve always wanted to be an actress. I feel guilt, because my mom has always wanted me to become a teacher or a lawyer, and I know my thoughts make her upset. The thing is that, even if I make money out of being a teacher, I know I am never going to love my work as much as I ‘d love acting.
So what’s better? Doing something that will make you happy, or disappointing others and fail achieving what they consider important?
