I always felt like when ever i keep my reading of books, articles and other reading material of fiction and non fiction that i am able to comprehend things easier than when i don’t read on a regular basis.
Any one else ever notice this kind of self improvement from reading often?
Ramon b, just because something is beyond your intelligence does’nt mean you got to insult a question that can only get intelligent answers other than yours of course.

Reading the books isn’t a waste of time unless you think that just by reading the book, you are going to magically change. Nothing is ever that easy..

year or do you just take it as it comes at whatever pace you’re comfortable with? Do you really dig into each chapter and verse and use commentaries and other helps?
Personally, I have always set a goal to read the Bible cover to cover each year and have always achieved that goal. But recently, I started going to a Bible study and I realized how much more deeply they understand the Bible then I do. I’m thinking that in 2009 it would be good to set a goal of quality rather then quantity.

There is so much amazing information and literature available, how is it that a great many people do not read, and instead prefer to watch television or go to bars? I am trying to understand the mindset. If I sound condescending, I am sorry; that is not my intent. I would love to hear perspectives from people who do not read for pleasure.
