I know bad things happen in life and I know that life does not always go the way you want it to go but does that mean you have to be negative and expect bad things to happen all the time. Why can’t people just learn to be happy despite circumstances? Why can’t people just enjoy life even if its not going their way?

I had this girl do me so wrong, she lied and just played games and now she is with someone and appears to be very happy with her. Why is it, when you do right you get screwed but people who do wrong, seem to be careless and happy. Should I consider doing wrong so I can be happy too?

I mean really, what’s the point of all the **** we do? We have what we need to survive without doing much work and yet we do so much on the side just to feel productive and impress other people. It just seems like meaningless bull****. I am not sure if there is an innate tendency to overlook or dismiss our shortcomings. If there were, I don’t think we, as a society, would have advanced to the level that we have. However, presupposing that there is an evolved predilection (since I don’t believe in Intelligent Design) towards ignoring our shortcomings; couldn’t that actually works towards our advantage?
Now at first this may seem odd to say that an instinctive desire to cast aside our shortcomings works towards our benefit, but you must also consider the flip side of being preoccupied with personal shortcomings. Many times fear and depression are the result of being focused too much on our shortcomings, which ultimately will have a stultifying effect on personal progress. Hence, there is a good evolutionary strength behind being sometimes oblivious to our shortcomings so that we can overcome the immediate task at hand.
