Stop

I read a lot of articles on the Internet but they make me procrastinate even more.
Do you have any personal tips for stopping this, things that trigger your motivation? Fancy stuff usually makes us procrastinate even more at the moment, like setting goals. That’s long term and it takes self discipline, what about quick and now?

I have had a negative attitude towards my self for as long as I can remember, even my grandmother commented about me being hard on myself at 3 years old. I dont want to accept that this is part of my personality, and I can’t change it. The attitude that I deserve punishment when I fail anyone’s expectations and that I expect to fail needs to stop. I don’t know where to start really, has anyone else dealt with the same thing or know how to become a more positive and self loving person?

They say perfectionists set unrealistic goals. I feel like by setting them too high, i condemn myself to failure and unhappiness.

I know that our goals should be self-improvement, not self-perfection. But how does one stop being a perfectionist?
What can someone say to theirselves to remind that trying to be or do perfect is not releastic?

I’m in middle school, and I seriously stink at managing my time…but I’m great at procrastinating! It takes me so long to do my homework, and when I have to study for a test I usually go to bed around 11:00. help!!!!!!
this isn’t about procrastinating on, say, doing the dishes, cleaning up my desk, etc. I’m just bad at managing my time for homework and I end up going to bed later than I should (10:30-11:00)…and I want to be tall. ;) It’s just hard to ‘work faster.’ sank you!!! :D and…I use a planner…so that’s not the problem. :)

When I’m getting angry, tears swell up in my eyes. The best concept I’ve found to stop it, is to go into a bathroom, stare at how bad I look, and burst out laughing.

However, when I don’t have time to do this, when I’m in an argument, for example, I usually close my eyes, though the tears still leak through. I do need a new concept though.

I know, I know, crying is a good stress management technique, blah blah. I don’t care. I need some practical ways to stop the tears when they are inconvient. I know when I need to cry, and I do. But not when I’m angry.
So.
Any suggestions?

I swear to god, if you say “Laugh!”, or “Close your eyes!”, I will hunt you down and throw a book at your face so you can learn to read before you type.

Carry on.

*sigh* And I don’t believe in God, so please do not say prayer.

I tend to focus on other people’s live and not my own. I find it hard to talk about deep personal issues that are bothering me. I get hurt easily and offended by other’s comments.

I spend time wondering how other people’s lives are and do not focus on my own.

What is the best to set goals and then really focus on them and not look at other people’s lives and think about them so much?

My problem started when I picked my major, hospitality management. At the time I wanted to be a GM in a hotel, but later I would find out that this industry is terrible. If I would be a GM, I would have to probably start at the front desk (for $8/ hr) and work there for ten years. Then I would probably become the manager of the front desk (salary in only the mid to high 20,000s) and then ten years after that I would finally get to a GM position. However, the problem with this position is that in every two years the majority of hotels are usually bought in sold and then the GM would be replaced. The first GM at my hotel was fired because of this and has actually worked at five different hotels in five different states, in as many years. Now I am having difficulty finding a job b/c the jobs I am applying to want degrees in other majors. I find myself ALWAYS thinking complaining and blaming my school b/c they didnt inform me of any of this. Does anyone know what i can do to help?
