I just finish Russell Simmons book “Do You!” It was awsome. I was very inspired by it. I’ve also started reading “The Secret” Both books stresses the power of positive thinking and the mind being very powerful. I’ve trying to be positive and so far it’s going pretty well. I’m just afraid that it want last long. I guess that’s a negative thought I shouldn’t be thinking. =) I was looking for some advice on how to have long term positive thinking and having a positive attitude. I’m trying to recondition mind and the way I think. Any good tips?

It is very important to set objectives. For example, if I wanted to lose 100 pounds….I start my diet and exercise program but say it a year, year and a half before I reach my goal, then it took me that long to accomplish anything. Mentally that could be a big setback for me. BUT if I decide that i’m only going to have 1 glass of sweet tea a day, or that I’ll walk 4 days a week, or lose ten pounds…i’m reaching smaller goals that will motivate to keep up the work. Also setting objective and having a plan allows you to see where you curruntly are, and realistically what you have to do to get where you want to be.

I’ve been trying to improve my life each week by setting little goals each week and sticking to them.
For example;
Week 1: give up meat
Week 2: do everything on my to do list
Week 3: keep up with a fitness rountine
Week 4: Floss everyday
drink green tea, balance grocery spending, good deeds, go swimming etc,
I’m not sure what else to do. Anyone got any good ideas or can share their short term goals?
